We are pleased to announce the new scholarship cycle for the 2026–2027 school year, marking our ninth annual scholarship.

This year, there are several important updates to our program that we would like to share with you.

1. Southern California Program

We have some important news to share, though it is difficult for us to say.

Due to recent health challenges, we are no longer able to continue offering new scholarships to students in Southern California. This was a very hard decision, and we share it with heavy hearts.

However, our commitment to our current scholarship family remains unchanged. We will continue to support all returning students—our current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
You may continue to apply through our website as usual. The portal will be open December 1, 2025, through January 31, 2026, and we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.

2. DC–MD–VA Program

a. GMU Application Process
George Mason University will partner with KDF to process and review applications. Students should apply at: https://gmu.academicworks.com

If you are in the College of Engineering and Computing, please search for “Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong School of Computing Scholarship Endowment” and apply through that link.
If you are not in engineering or computing, search for “Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Scholarship Endowment” and apply through that link.
For additional questions, please email [email protected].
b. New Partner Universities
We are pleased to welcome Towson University and James Madison University to our scholarship program.

c. Deadline for Returning Students
Returning students (previous-year recipients): January 31, 2026

d. Deadline for New Applicants
New student applicants: March 27, 2026

e. Communication Requirement
As always, applicants must remain responsive to emails and requests from the foundation.

f. Award Ceremony Requirement
Attendance at the Scholarship Award Ceremony on July 18, 2026 is required
