In partnership with & , has started implementation of project by awarding scholarships to 53 high school girls and granting repayable working capital to 200 women small business owners severely impacted by the war in .
Each of the 53 high school girls received 7200 Birr scholarship funding to cover living & tuition costs to live close to their schools. This amount is for Year 1, will continue annually until they graduate high school & helps prevent dropouts due to economic & social challenges.Β Β
Two hundred women small(micro) business owners from the areas shown are provided 13,000 Birr each in the form of repayable, interest-free grant. to help grow their businesses. Thou smaller than what'sΒ needed, the women are motivated to succeed using the opportunity.
Including various expenses for setting up mentorship workshops & award events, a total amount of 3,570,680 Birr was distributed. This is equivalent to $63,250 out of which $44,000 was a grant from Raey Hiwot and . We will continue our close follow-up and support our participants to set them up for success.
