The sparked that inspired me create a Fantastic Friends chapter in the SFV
As a mom of a special needs child, I was looking for social opportunities for my son who has Autism. He felt lonely and had difficulty connecting with other kids. In researching for groups, I found Fantastic Friends through a magazine article. It was exactly what I was looking for in a social group for my son. Started by Marissa Hacker for her twin brother Matthew, who also has Autism, I felt an instant connection. I immediately checked their website to see if they had a chapter in my area but they did not. It did not take me long to decide that I wanted to start a chapter here for my son and others with disabilities. I reached out to Marissa who was happy to help us start our chapter. We have grown so much and hope with your help to continue to provide this resource to special needs individuals and their families.
