Harlan County Dam Playhouse Mission Statement

The Harlan County Dam Playhouse (HCDP) mission is threefold: artistic, educational, economic.

-HCDP hopes to improve the quality of life for South Central Nebraska and North Central Kansas residents by providing high-quality, community-oriented, live theatrical performances and related Arts events.
-To develop and present to our audiences socially re

levant performances through historical research and new play development, thus rekindling and nurturing regional spirit.
-To provide an environment that promotes training, development, and retention of artists in our area.
-To raise audience awareness of: 1. Rich and vital historical links to past live theatrical performances in the region and 2. The ongoing value of contributions by regional artists to the global artistic community.
-To provide the regional artist a viable outlet for his/her talents.
-To stimulate tourism and to aid in attraction/retention of business and professional interests.
