BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥

Now that we are in October, we are back into Ohio's seasonal burn ban.

For some time now, the State of Ohio has placed burn bans for the spring and fall months. Open burning is restricted during the daytime hours of 6am to 6 PM from October 1st-November 30th.

🚫 This means there is no open burning for the purpose of burning wood, brush, weeds, grass, or rubbish of any kind during these times.
🔸During the fall, fire danger is higher due to the abundance of dry leaves and vegetation, especially after the very dry summer we just had.
🔸The specified hours are due to winds being more active during the daytime. Winds typically die down in the late afternoon, lowering the threat of hot embers being carried away.

We are having a raffle for some outdoor power equipment. The drawing will be held on June 28th at the Republic Street Fair following our Jaws of Life demonstration. You can get ahold of any Firemen for tickets or pick up some at the Mickey Mart in Republic.
We have these raffles to help purchase equipment for the department. Some grants are hard to obtain and this also prevents us from asking the Township Trustees to take the money out of the Fire Department operating funds.
These tickets were donated to the department by Quick Tab 2 in memory of Chuck Daughenbaugh.
We truly appreciate your support, as always!!

Just a friendly reminder that there is a statewide burn ban from October through November between 6am-6pm. With everything starting to die off and crops being harvested it won’t take much to create a big mess!

Last night we had the opportunity to tour Baldosser Farms and see how their grain setup operates. This gives us a better understanding on how it works in case of an incident involving bins or silos. We also took advantage of a fresh semi load of beans to freshen up our skills in grain rescue techniques. We hope to never have to use these techniques but as always we train for incidents like these! Thank you Gary and Darin for the training opportunity!
