KCSARC has supported survivors like Jane Doe every day since our founding in 1976, and much of what she experienced aligns with the experience of thousands of survivors we assist each year right here in King County.

KCSARC CEO Kate Garvey shares a few thoughts and resources with our community. Visit https://www.kcsarc.org/from-cornell-to-king-county to read her full message.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and this is no run-of-the-mill election on many fronts.

Washington voters will decide five of the nine state Supreme Court seats, along with races for Congress, the state House and Senate, county offices, and other judicial positions. There are also three ballot initiatives to consider.

If you are eligible to vote, please make sure you're registered and encourage others to do the same!

For more information about voting in King County, visit https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/elections

Voting should never cost you your safety. Survivors of sexual assault can vote confidentially through Washington's Address Confidentiality Program (ACP).

For more information about this program and how to apply, visit https://www.sos.wa.gov/statewide-programs/address-confidentiality-program-acp

Our new film, We can't change what we can't talk about, helps everyone understand child sexual abuse and how to take action.

You’ll learn about red flags that should be explored, what to do if you think abuse is happening, and how to reduce the risk to children in our care and community.

Visit www.kcsarc.org/keep-kids-safe to watch the film and find supportive resources.

Yesterday, KCSARC CEO Kate Garvey testified before the Washington House Community Safety Committee in a work session on current challenges in crime victims services and resources. Victim services are an essential part of the state's public safety infrastructure, ones that help survivors find safety, understand their options, access care, and, if they choose, to participate in the justice system. Our message to legislators is that this infrastructure is critical and must be maintained.
