The Key to Change is a nonprofit organization that ignites positive change around the world through music and education. Founded and directed by violinist, educator, and entrepreneur Dr. Quinton Morris, Key to Change strives to dispel the “starving artist” mentality and provide young artists with the educational tools and resources they need in order to grow and thrive as musicians and as individu

als. The Key to Change recently launched a violin studio, of the same name, in South King County which serves middle and high school students of color and economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Renton, Kent, Auburn, Maple Valley, and Federal Way neighborhoods. Quinton Morris opened the studio after returning from his 25-city BREAKTHROUGH World Tour, which paired chamber music recitals with educational outreach and community service in under-resourced communities around the globe. The Key to Change violin studio in South King County offers middle and high school students year-long access to world class, professional instruction for low cost. Students may register for private violin lessons or group violin classes. Private lessons are one-on-one lessons with the instructor, while group classes may have between four to six students working with the instructor at the same time. Key to Change violin students will:
* Take private or group violin lessons
* Participate in master classes taught by guest artists
* Receive weekly ensemble coachings
* Learn various styles of music
* Perform in quarterly recitals
* Attend a yearly workshop catered toward preparing for college auditions and applications

The Key to Change studio offers scholarships and financial aid.

What happens when you bring the world to your doorstep instead of sending your students away to find it? 🌎

Rob Simonds, Director of Strategic Relationships & Partnerships at Key to Change, sits down with Dr. Quinton Morris to talk about how at Key to Change, our masterclass series creates powerful exchange by inviting artists with global experiences to connect directly with students. Even those commuting from nearby communities gain exposure to ideas, cultures, and industry insights from across the globe. 🎻✨

It’s more than a class, it is perspective, inspiration, and shared growth that reaches far beyond. 🎶

Watch the full episode to see how this vision is transforming opportunities for young musicians.

“Believe in yourself early, ask questions, knock on doors, and reach out.” 👏

Through our partnership with The Key to Change, our students are learning violin from world-class musicians and connecting with leaders who encourage them to dream big and act boldly, including Joan Wang of Delta Air Lines, who gave them that incredible advice ⬆️

We’re so grateful for all of the amazing mentors out there who remind our students to believe in themselves and reach for what’s possible!

Two months.

That’s how long our students had been playing violin before stepping onto the stage at Benaroya Hall.

Through our partnership with The Key to Change, Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle students are gaining access to experiences that challenge them to grow, perform, and believe in what’s possible.

We’re proud of their courage to show up and take the stage.

A beautiful moment from last week’s assembly 🎻

Our Violin Magis students shared their talent and dedication through a wonderful performance at our AANHPI Heritage Month assembly.

We’re so grateful to partner with The Key to Change, whose support helps make opportunities like this possible, and so proud of the artistry our students brought to the stage.
