1 in 7 households in South King County struggles with food insecurity—significantly higher than King County’s average of 1 in 10.

South King County is home to the Road Map Region, where 62% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and communities of color face food insecurity rates 2–3 times higher than the county average.

When SNAP is under threat, families pay the price. Cuts will deepen racial and regional disparities in hunger—especially in South King County, where food insecurity rates are already above the county average.
