Habitat for Humanity Seattle - King County

Habitat for Humanity Seattle - King County A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

While best known for our traditional model of building houses using primarily volunteer labor and selling them at cost to working families whose income is less than 60% of the area median income, we also repair and preserve existing housing stock to keep low-income homeowners in safe, decent, affordable housing. Habitat’s ultimate goal is to transform lives and communities not just through housing itself, but by actively engaging the community to help improve neighborhoods themselves.

Meet Jackie. For decades, her Habitat home has been packed with family, friends, neighbors, grandkids, and even the occasional foster dog. And that’s exactly how she likes it.

As we celebrate 40 years of Habitat SKKC, we’re looking back at the people and homes that helped shape our story. Jackie and the first Habitat home ever built in Renton are a pretty special part of it. 🏠

Flashback to one of those perfect summer days ☀️🌭 Back in July, we fired up the grill for Hot Dog Day and got to spend a little extra time celebrating some of the regular volunteers who show up for Habitat week after week. We love this crew, and we’re so grateful for everything they bring to our work. 💙

Big thanks to Washington Trust Bank for joining the fun and bringing some pretty stellar raffle prizes, including Mariners tickets! ⚾️

Good food, great people, some friendly competition, and the best excuse to celebrate our volunteers. We’ll take more days like this before the summer ends, please!

A lower interest rate can make a big difference. While current market interest rates fluctuate around 6.25%, Habitat offers a below-market rate of 4.5%. That's one more way affordable homeownership becomes possible at Liberty Commons.

🚨 Seattle is accepting public comment on the Fort Lawton redevelopment, and we need your voice by September 8.

The plan could create up to 500 affordable homes, including 200 Habitat homeownership opportunities. After 20 years of delays, this is a critical moment to move Fort Lawton forward.

📣 Use your voice now. Tell Seattle: 20 years is long enough — move Fort Lawton forward: https://habitatforhumanityseattle.quorum.us/campaign/167554/
