Trinity United Methodist Church - Rensselaer, Indiana is a "Souper" Supporter of the Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Rensselaer. Thank you for using the timing of the Super Bowl for your congregation to donate 355 cans of soup, totaling 297 pounds, in your "Souper Bowl of Caring." You are "M'm! M'm! Good!"

Over the past two weeks we have been collecting cans of soup for our annual "Souper Bowl of Caring" food drive.

We celebrate that today we were able to deliver 355 cans of soup to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Rensselaer

In conjunction with the Rayburn Family Christmas, we had the honor of dedicating the "Chloe K Cupboard" in memory of Chloe K Rayburn.

This has long been known as the "free shelf" (...but everything here is "free") with various items our clients can select in addition to their monthly food distribution. The inventory is always random and whimsical, and brings a smile to everyone, like sweet Chloe did.

If you knew Chloe, you know she LOVED ranch dressing. You're always welcome to donate a bottle (or 12) to keep it stocked in her memory.

Sending lots of love, cherished memories, and continued prayers to the Rayburn Family from your Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Rensselaer Family.

Jolly old St. Jeremy
Lean your ear this way

You can tell a million souls
What I'm going to say

Christmas Eve is coming soon
And tax year's ending, too

Many neighbors are in need
Hope to count on YOU!

Visit gsfprensselaer.org

Do it for the kids!

Thank you, Good Samaritans.

'Twas the time before Christmas at the pantry of food

All the workers were stirring to help lift the mood

The supplies were stocked on the shelves with care

In hopes that St. Jeremy made sure they weren't bare

When among our numbers there rose such a clatter

Rena eyed the computer to check out the matter

Away to the report Rena flew like a flash

Tore through the numbers and started to hash

This year alone we served over 2,000 more

From 6,000 to 8,000 - what's next in store?

Now, Carrots! Now, Hygiene! Now, Canned Fruits and Jelly!

Let's give our Neighbors food for their belly

And laying his finger aside of his nose

And giving a nod, Jeremy said how this goes

Spring to your sleigh, to your team give a whistle

Fly us your gifts 'neath the toe of mistle

Then I heard him exclaim when he drove out of sight

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Visit gsfprensselaer.org to donate online and/or view suggested food & household item donations.

Monetary gifts may also be dropped off or mailed to: GSFP, 227 S College Ave Ste 1, Rensselaer, IN 47978.

Food & household items may be dropped off when we're open OR by using our outdoor dropoff bin any day/time OR by appointment for larger collection drives.

"God bless us, every one!" Thank you!

Thank you for the amazing support of the Good Sam Jam to benefit the Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Rensselaer. We hope to make it an annual event.

With your help we raised $35,000 and collected 280 pounds of food and household items at the event. There were NO expenses for this event thanks to so many generous sponsors.

Some factoids...

The GSFP is volunteer-led and staffed. There are NO paid employees.

It costs $8,000 per month (avg) to operate the GSFP.

Clients may receive food once a month.

Our goal is to provide food for 1 week (based on household headcount).

In 2023, GSFP served 4,640 people from 1,321 households.

In 2024, GSFP served 6,036 people from 1,615 households.

In 2025, GSFP will serve over 8,000 people. Over 8,000 people!

We couldn't fulfill our mission without YOU, Good Samaritans.

Keep on rocking those donations!

Thank You!

The little saints at St. Augustine Catholic School collected and donated 458 pounds of food items for the Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Rensselaer. Thank you! Chicken Soup for the Soul moment: the principal, Lacie Allison, said the students asked to include in their prayers all those who are in need after learning about hunger, especially among our neighbors.
