How is the Truckee River doing, and where can you find the data to understand it? 💧📊

Introducing the Truckee River Dashboard, a new community data resource managed by Truckee Meadows Tomorrow using the framework of the One Truckee River Management Plan.

The Truckee River connects communities and ecosystems from Lake Tahoe through the Truckee Meadows and ultimately to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation. The new dashboard brings updated, accessible data together in one place to help our community better understand ongoing efforts to protect and improve this vital resource.

Through collaboration with One Truckee River and community partners, the dashboard helps track progress toward a river with high standards of water quality, a thriving environment, strong community stewardship, and sustained management.

What if you need to understand community needs beyond a single data point? 📊

That’s where the SocioNeeds Index® Suite on NevadaTomorrow.org comes in.

Instead of looking at one indicator at a time, the suite brings multiple health and socioeconomic factors together into composite scores that can help reveal patterns across Washoe County.

Explore the Health Equity Index, Food Insecurity Index, and Mental Health Index, with data available at the county, ZIP code, and census tract level. That means you can move beyond the countywide picture and take a closer look at how conditions may differ from one community to another.

Whether you’re researching community needs, planning programs, or simply looking to better understand where you live, these tools can provide another layer of insight. 💛

Senior Citizens Day offers an opportunity to look at what aging well means for our community. 💛📊

Washoe County’s population age 65 and older is increasing and now represents a larger share of the population than both the Nevada and U.S. averages. As that population grows, the need for healthcare, services, infrastructure, and support designed for older adults may grow with it.

One encouraging indicator is access to geriatric-focused nurse practitioners. Washoe County’s rate is improving over time and is higher than the Nevada average.

Looking at these trends together helps us better understand how our community is changing and what may be needed to support quality of life at every age.

What happens when we stop looking at quality of life issues in isolation? 📊

That’s one of the questions behind TMT’s upcoming 2026 Community Progress Report.

This year, each section will feature a new "Explore the Connections" component, showing how our ten Quality of Life areas intersect. From the relationship between arts and culture and civic engagement to the ways our natural environment can influence mental and behavioral health, the data helps us see a bigger picture of our community.

And throughout the report, we’ll share stories that show how TMT data is being used for good across our region. 💛

The 2026 Community Progress Report is almost here. Stay tuned!

World Humanitarian Day is a reminder that community support is most effective when we understand where needs are greatest. 💛📊

In Washoe County, poverty does not affect every household in the same way. Twenty percent of working-age adults with a disability are living below the poverty level, 12.4% of children are living in poverty, and 20% of households do not have enough financial reserves to sustain themselves at the poverty level for three months without income.

Each indicator tells a different part of the story.

Together, they can help nonprofits, funders, community leaders, and residents better understand financial vulnerability and where focused support may have the greatest impact.
