Meet Jason – 2025 Nevada Dream Tags Winner for a Elk tag! 🏔️🦌

Jason is gearing up for his first-ever hunt in Nevada—and he’s going all in. With a Dream Tag in hand, he plans to hunt every open season this fall, using archery, muzzleloader, and rifle until he fills that tag.

📍 “I’m still digging into maps and data to figure out where to start scouting. I’ve never hunted Nevada before, so I’m doing my homework and getting ready to grind!”

Jason is no stranger to elk hunting—he’s hooked on the thrill of chasing bugling bulls during the rut. The adrenaline, the calling, the encounters—it’s his favorite kind of hunt.

🎯 Congratulations to Ray Wurdinger – 2025 Nevada Dream Tags Winner of an Antelope tag!

Ray Wurdinger, a proud Oregon native raised on a farm in the Willamette Valley, has drawn a coveted Nevada Dream Tag after 20 years of applying! A passionate archery and firearm hunter, Ray is a life member of the Oregon Wild Sheep Foundation and the Oregon Hunter’s Association.

Ray participates in the Dream Tag raffle every year to support conservation efforts and because he loves hunting in Nevada. For him, the raffle is a chance for everyday hunters to experience extraordinary hunts that might otherwise be out of reach.

Though he hasn’t yet chosen his hunting location, Ray is thrilled about the many opportunities Nevada offers. He looks forward to sharing his journey with the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada.

🏆 Congratulations to Angel – 2025 Nevada Dream Tags Winner of a Desert Bighorn Sheep tag! 🏔️🐏

Angel’s love for wild sheep hunting began at 17, side-by-side with her dad—and that passion has never faded. Now, she’s drawn a coveted Dream Tag and is preparing for another unforgettable adventure.

Angel plans to use a family heirloom 7mm rifle that’s been in her family for over 30 years. While she’s still waiting to see what hunting opportunities will be available once other specialty tag holders make their choices, the excitement is already building.

This isn’t Angel’s first sheep hunt—she harvested a desert sheep back in 1996 and has joined her father, husband, and daughter on their hunts. But this tag is extra special.

📩 “When I got the email, I had to make sure it wasn’t spam! Hunting wild sheep has always been at the top of my list.”

Her family has supported the Dream Tags program since its beginning, always eager for another shot at a premium tag. Angel says the raffle process is smooth and easy—making it a great way to support conservation and chase your hunting dreams.

🌟 Meet Crystal – 2025 Nevada Dream Tags Winner for a Deer tag! 🏔️🦌

Crystal’s hunting journey is nothing short of inspiring. Raised in a family that was against hunting, she never imagined she’d one day be holding a Dream Tag of her own. But thanks to her husband, Barrett Sims—an avid mountain hunter—Crystal discovered the true heart of hunting: conservation, adventure, togetherness, and ethical harvesting.

At 52, she harvested her first animal, proving it’s never too late to start. Now, she’s gearing up for the hunt of a lifetime with her Dream Tag, planning to use a muzzleloader or rifle. While she’s still deciding on the exact location with the help of outfitters, the excitement is building by the day.

“This is one of my husband’s dream hunts,” Crystal says, “but I think he’s even more excited that I won than he would be if he had!”

Crystal first heard about the Dream Tags raffle from Barrett, who often receives raffle tickets as gifts from her. This time, he returned the favor—and it paid off in the most amazing way.

🎉 Dream Tag Winner Spotlight: Nathan Oldenkamp 🏆

🐏 Tag Drawn: Desert Bighorn Sheep

“I’m still shaking after hearing the news!” — That’s how Nathan Oldenkamp reacted when he found out he was the lucky winner of a coveted Nevada Dream Tag for Desert Bighorn Sheep!

Nathan, who hunted with his Weatherby 6.5 RPM, was geared up for an unforgettable adventure. Prior to the hunt he said, “I’m hoping to hunt everywhere I’m able to,” in an effort to embrace the full experience of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

This was Nathan’s first time hunting Desert Bighorn Sheep, and he was in it for all the right reasons: “I chose to participate for conservation purposes and a chance to win this tag.” He first heard about the Dream Tags raffle through the Wild Sheep Foundation and found the ticket process easy and accessible — a tradition he shares with his brother as they apply for tags across the country.

Dare Delorefice shares the story of his Dream Tag hunt last year:

The year 2022 was one for my memory book...I can't forget receiving the Dream Tag notification email. Family was over relaxing, watching a movie, only to be startled and panicked by my loud screams of what turned out to be elation and joy for the email news of my successful draw of the Dream Tag for 2022 Elk.

Wanting to make the most of such a coveted tag I began researching prior year hunt units, success and Outfitters. I had a prior relationship with Trevor Marques of Bull Ridge Guide Service and wanted to hunt with him. However, the prior year I was fortunate enough to have met an Outfitter by the name of Nick Perchetti, who owns and operates Timberline Outfitters out of Tonopah, NV. This relationship proved to be fortuitous in choosing a hunt unit and season to concentrate on for the Dream Tag hunt. Nick guides in an area that includes Table Mountain, which currently holds the B&C record bull Elk for the State of Nevada. There was an early rifle hunt available for this area which would give me an early opportunity at a quality bull prior to the common antler time breakage of the rut.

Due to a week of extreme winds up on the mountain, the hunters ahead of me experienced difficult hunt conditions and created a couple days of delay in starting the hunt. This ended up being a blessing for my hunt because the elk were as anxious as me to get out after the high winds. Nick, his brother-in-law Pard and I accessed the mountain on horseback and planned to stay mobile on the mountain for three days in search of a bull worthy of the 2022 Dream Tag.

Nick and Pard got us up on top and into what one might call a "party" of bulls bugling and competing over herds of cows. We must have looked over a dozen quality bulls. Nick and Pard called one bull into within 30 feet of us before it scented us and took off.

We were able to sneak into the edge of the "living room" of a large group of bugling bulls and get to within 50 yds of the bull we were after. He was a beautiful 7x7 bull with wavy main beams, long daggers, and good tine length. The deciding factor was the extreme mass and the almost 6" G6 tines on both sides, making him a true 7x7.

An encouraging word from Nick was all it took, and the deafening sound of my Weatherby 30-378 rang out. Nearly causing Pard to wince. Nick called out in what sounded like a whisper, "he's down". At that moment, it seemed like the trees came alive with bulls and cows bounding everywhere. My Dream of harvesting a trophy bull was realized with the 2022 Dream Tag.
