On behalf of Great Basin Youth Soccer League and our entire soccer community, I want to express our deepest sympathy to everyone impacted by the Hawk Fire. We recognize the extraordinary disruption this emergency has caused for families across our region—especially those who have been displaced and forced to evacuate.

While soccer may be paused or changed for many of us this week, our commitment to one another must remain steady. We are thinking of every player, coach, and volunteer affected by this situation, and we want you to know you are not facing it alone.

GBYSL stands ready to support the our community in any practical ways we can—whether that means helping coordinate resources, assisting with return-to-play planning once it’s safe, or simply providing encouragement to our youth athletes as they navigate stress and uncertainty. Please continue to follow guidance from local officials and emergency services.

If anyone needs help—directly or through a confidential request—please know we are here to help connect people to support.

⚽️ Welcome to the Fall Season 2026 of Great Basin Youth Soccer League! ⚽️

We’re excited to kick off another year of soccer where every team begins with the same goal: growth—on and off the field.

At Great Basin Youth Soccer League (Recreational + Select/Competitive), we believe how we pursue excellence matters more than the final score. Wins fade, but the lessons, relationships, and integrity we build last a lifetime.

Players: pursue excellence with respect, embrace challenges, and respect referees—they’re human and still deserve respect.
Parents & Families: the sideline matters. Please stay positive, no coaching from the sideline, and avoid arguing calls or engaging with opposing fans.
Recreational + Select: one league, shared expectations—respect teammates, opponents, referees, and represent our league with integrity and class.

🚫 Important reminders:
• Racial abuse has no place in our game.
• Referee abuse has no place in our league.
• Entering the field without permission can lead to sanctions.

Fall 2026 Recreational soccer league is for boys and girls U4 (born on or before July 31st, 2023 to U12 (born no earlier than August 1st, 2014).
Our recreational season is 7 games, starting August 15th and ending October 17th. Players are placed on teams by zip code whenever possible. More info at https://gbysl.org/gbysl-recreational/

An EPIC weekend for Reno youth soccer with the Grand Opening of J Resorts downtown soccer fields! GBYSL Recreational teams had the honor of being the very first games to play on the fields followed by GBYSL Select teams with special guest teams from as far away as Elko, NV and Salinas, CA. The fields were absolutely amazing! Thank you and Jeff Jacobs for your vision for downtown Reno and investing in youth soccer!
