Meet your 2026 YLC!

Chris McCarthy is a Senior Manager with Eide Bailly Advisory in Reno, where he provides audit and accounting services to a wide range of clients. A Reno native, Chris and his wife are raising their four children in the community he has always called home. He enjoys giving back through organizations like the Boys & Girls Club and is passionate about supporting local youth. Outside of work, he spends much of his time coaching youth sports and making memories with his family while camping and enjoying the outdoors.

Carlan is a CPA at Sorren who enjoys helping business owners and individuals navigate complex tax matters while building lasting relationships through proactive planning and advice.
A Reno native, Carlan is passionate about supporting the local community through the YLC. He values opportunities to give back and help make Northern Nevada an even better place to live and work.
Outside the office, Carlan enjoys running, golfing, and proving that CPAs do, in fact, have personalities.

Meet your 2026 YLC!

Originally from Arizona and in Reno after playing soccer at UNR, Mackenzie Robinson is a local attorney at Dickinson Wright and passionate advocate for the Boys and Girls Club. Growing up, Mackenzie was a “club kid” and later a “Leader-in-Training” at the Boys and Girls Club. As an adult, Mackenzie is so excited to be a part of an organization that was instrumental to her childhood and hopes to be a part of gifting that experience for club kids here in Reno.

Blake Smith Jr is a Partner at S3 Development Company, LLC. As third-generation Nevadan, he has spent his career building residential and commercial projects in our community. Blake is a graduate of Santa Clara University and also serves part-time in the U.S. Army Reserve as an Intelligence Officer. Outside of work, you can find him hunting, fishing, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his friends and family.

Bo Cassel is a proud husband, father of two, and Employee Benefits Consultant with Gallagher. Originally from Grass Valley, California, he has called Reno home since 2011. A former Division I football player at Stony Brook University, Bo is passionate about helping businesses, supporting the local community, and making memories with his family. He had the privilege of serving as Chair of the Young Leaders Committee in 2020 and was honored as a Twenty Under 40 recipient that same year.

Meet your 2026 YLC!
Tim Damon is a Financial Advisor with Gonzalez Morrow Financial Strategies Group at Wells Fargo Advisors. A lifelong Reno resident, Tim graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with degrees in Finance and Economics.

His passion for investing began early when he opened his first brokerage account at age 16. Since then, he has developed a strong interest in financial markets, economic cycles, and long term wealth building. Today, Tim works closely with individuals, families, and business owners to help them make informed financial decisions and pursue their personal and financial goals.

Outside of the office, Tim enjoys taking advantage of Northern Nevada's outdoor lifestyle. An avid golfer and skier, he also enjoys camping, rock climbing, and traveling. He is a certified scuba diver and is always looking forward to his next adventure. Of all the places he has visited, Switzerland remains his favorite destination for its incredible scenery, outdoor activities, and culture.

Tim comes from a close knit family and has an older sister and an identical twin brother. They often spend their free time together, whether it’s traveling, spending time on the golf course, or enjoying everything the Reno community has to offer.

A lifelong learner, Tim is an enthusiastic reader with a particular interest in investing, business, and personal development. His favorite book is Principles by Ray Dalio, which reflects his appreciation for disciplined decision making, continuous improvement, and thoughtful problem solving. He also enjoys cooking and is always eager to try new recipes and techniques in the kitchen.

Meet your 2026 YLC!

Born and raised in Reno, NV, Jarek attended Reed High School where he played basketball and lacrosse. He loves living in Reno because it is very tight-knit and communal, where everyone supports one another in their endeavors.

Jarek is a recent graduate of the University of Nevada with a major in Business Marketing and a minor in Supply Chain Management. For the past year, he has worked at ITS Logistics as the Network Operations Manager for the Home Depot account.

Jarek has been affiliated with the Club his whole life, whether that was volunteering for Cioppino and holiday help, playing in the Ballers basketball program at the Club, and even working there for three years where he got to see the full impact the Club has on the local community.

Emma Briggs is Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley with 8 years of experience helping people build and protect their wealth. She is a Former women’s basketball player at Menlo College where she received a degree in business accounting. When not working with clients, you can find Emma outdoors, trying new restaurants or spending time with friends and family.
