Mercury Momentum A volunteer run, 501(c)3 created to support & organize important community events. Our focus is on activities & events that promote awareness & education.

We have adopted a philosophy of inclusiveness that continually seeks ways to include and engage more groups into these activities. We believe that by reaching more people and spreading awareness through experiences and education, we will have a greater impact on positive change. So many programs inadvertently alienate people through strict advocacy and/or pressure situations that they lose some of

their audience. Unfortunately, those lost audiences are exactly the people whom the messages need to reach in order to gain momentum for positive changes. We hope that by providing a safe and inclusive forum for everyone to engage and educate on different perspectives, we will inspire awareness, tolerance, respect and greater cooperation with positive changes. Our board has decided to dissolve the nonprofit due to changing personal situations with the board. We have searched for years for candidates to join us and other organizations to pass our programs over to, but have not found any able to take them on. Mercury Momentum will not have a science fair, performances or Earth Day event going forward, but we are sure someone will step up in the way they think is best.

It is with sincerest gratitude and regret that the Board of Mercury Momentum, the nonprofit that has organized the Reno Earth Day event since 2012, is announcing our dissolution. We will not be organizing the event for 2023 onward, but would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers, and community for supporting us. Without all of their support Reno Earth Day would not have been the successful community event that everyone has looked forward to each year in April.
