The Children’s Cabinet represents a unique and effective collaboration between the private sector and public agencies in Nevada. We help more than 11,000 families annually with a wide range of services: basic needs, child care resources, education, and work experience programs, crisis intervention, and family counseling. As a non-profit agency, The Children’s Cabinet relies on community support to provide programs and services at no charge to children and their families.

Join us for a spooktacular afternoon of trunk-or-treating, a haunted house, arts and crafts, and plenty of festive fun as we celebrate Halloween at The Children's Cabinet.

To help make this event a treat for everyone, we're collecting candy donations!

Candy donations are being accepted now at the following Children's Cabinet office locations:

- 1090 S. Rock Blvd., Reno, NV 89502

Every donation helps create a safe, fun, and memorable Halloween experience for local children and families. Nut-free candy donations would also be greatly appreciated to help accommodate for children with allergies.

Join us on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Wilbur D. May Youth Center (777 Sinclair St., Reno) for an afternoon of spooky family fun! We'll also have a haunted house operating from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Looking for a path toward education, career training, and long-term success? 🚀

YouthBuild helps opportunity youth ages 16-24 gain valuable skills, earn credentials, explore career pathways, and prepare for the future. Participants can receive support in areas such as construction and skilled trades, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, technology, postsecondary education, and apprenticeships.

Our next YouthBuild cohort begins in mid-October, and we're currently recruiting! If you know a young person who could benefit from hands-on training, education support, and workforce development opportunities, help us connect them to this life-changing program.

As we continue having important conversations about youth mental health this September, it's important to remember that too many young people are struggling in silence.

More than half of Nevada teens who experience feelings of sadness, hopelessness, anxiety, or anger report not getting the help they need. In fact, 56.9% of Nevada students say they rarely or never received support when facing these challenges.

During Su***de Awareness and Prevention Month, we encourage everyone to check in with the young people in their lives. A simple conversation, a listening ear, or a reminder that someone matters can make a lasting difference.

Together, we can help create a community where every young person feels seen, supported, and connected to hope. 💙
