We're grateful to Heritage Bank, a 2026 Purple Sponsor of The Purple Gala, for helping make that journey possible. Their partnership supports the services that empower survivors and their children to rebuild their lives with safety, dignity, and hope.

"For a few wonderful hours, we weren't focused on everything we had been through or everything we were still trying to rebuild. We were laughing together, cheering at the game, sharing food, making memories, and simply enjoying being together. We got to be a normal family."

Thanks to the generosity of the Reno Aces, a mom and her four children enjoyed a night at the ballpark—a chance to step away from the challenges of rebuilding after domestic violence and simply be together.

"Watching all four of my children smile, laugh, and have so much fun together was a gift I will never forget. Healing isn't just about surviving what happened—it's also about creating joyful moments that replace painful ones."

Thank you, Reno Aces, for providing experiences that bring hope, healing, and joy to survivors and their children.

A birthday. A barbecue. A new beginning.

At a recent summer barbecue for families staying in DVRC's emergency shelter, staff surprised one resident with a birthday cake to celebrate her special day.

Then came another surprise—her housing application had been approved.

Through tears, she shared, "This is the best birthday I have ever had."

For this survivor and her family, the day became more than a birthday. It marked the beginning of a new chapter with a place to call home.

We're honored to walk alongside survivors as they rebuild their lives and create brighter futures for themselves and their children.

A safe place to call home can change everything. 💜

Thanks to our partnership with the , one of DVRC's shelter families has secured a two-bedroom affordable housing unit.

After fleeing domestic violence, this survivor—who is raising two young children on her own without family support—now has the stability and security of a permanent home where her family can begin a new chapter.

This life-changing outcome is possible because of strong community partnerships and the dedication of advocates who stand beside survivors every step of the way. A special thank you to our shelter advocates for their compassion, persistence, and unwavering support in helping this family achieve this milestone.

Together, we're helping survivors move beyond crisis and build empowered lives free from abuse.
