Just another thing I heard.

"Violence is not a subjective feeling ... it's an objective fact!"

~GENEX~

sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me .... never ever ever ever ever.

My child shall never feel the pain of your words.

And if you speek ... they shall banish you from their minds!

Yet you shall be free to speak!

"Men imagine that thought can be kept secret, but it cannot; in rapidly crystallizes into habit, and habit solidifies into curcumstance."

I am so very excited to know that so many people that I don't know personally like and agree with the mission and vision of YSDR. There has been a great deal of support for this vision .... aid and assistance is showing up from all over the world. It seems the consciousness of the concept has been floating around the world for some time now. And many of us in the yoga community are ready for this charitable organization to exist.

In the next days weeks and months I will be running a blog talk radio show, as a part of helping YSDR explode into true working, and miraculous existence. In the show we will keep you updated on what we are doing and what progress we have made in becoming a fully active chrarity. (We have a commitment to be fully functional in six months)
We will also interview people, friends, family, and celebrities about the affects that yoga has on their lives. (Everyone's story is unique - please msg me if you would like to participate and share your story)
We will also be interviewing and shedding light on other yoga charitable organizations. I've learned that there are many of us in this world, working on specific areas of healing through yoga. EXCITING! !!
You will also be able to participate and call in LIVE ... I will keep you informed on days and times of recording.

I will also be being interviewed by other magazines, and blog radio shows. Please msg me if you would like to share and network with your show or mag that way.

Thank you for helping YSDR flood into the consciousness of the yoga community, and around the world. I have been wonderfully suprized at the inquiries and your suport. (I apologize if I have not returned your communication, I will be in touch soon) Your Love and support will have a tremendous payback. We will watch together as YSDR blossoms into a world wide Charitable organization and contributes fully to the health of humanity. Thank You Thank You Thank You

I don't know why I did not think about this in the last two weeks.

I have started a yoga blog talk as a sister station to a French Quebec radio show Yoga Partout. I would love to interview anyone that has a transformational story that has to do with yoga. You would have an opportunity touch thousands with your story and maybe change someone's life for ever.

Please msg me if you would like to participate. All you need is a secure phone line.

YOGA causes a silent space in the heart and mind, were the still small voice can be heard, even the voice of our creator.

11/07/2014

Yoga has produced many things for me, physically, mentally and spiritually. Most of it I did not know about till till something happened in life, and what yoga was doing for me just showed up. And I accert that none of it would have showed up without consistent, persistent practice.

So one day I got very seriously rearended while stopped at a light. The other person in the car (an athletic and in shape individual) spent the next three months in rehab for your typical whiplash, back and neck injuries. I never even had a single muscle twinge. Not a sore spot. Strong, and elastic. NAMASTE

Why do I write? It helps me understand what I know. Consider that for a moment .... Take it in. Dont try and interpret it. ...... Try this on for size.

Writing will always produce what you know. You have lived a life where in every moment of every day you have a portion of your body recording what happens. If you start to put your thoughts on paper you begin to bring order to what you know, and you get whats on the surface out, and what's underneath (in the rest of your mind) gets exposed. And it can occure as if it is new news to you, BUT that information has always been there. Sometimes you have random stories, and bits and pieces of information that you never brought order to, and writing sets it strait, or even reveals what you truly know about any subject - if we are writing about what and how we think, or in story format. We always expose what we know. Even in research or report format you become clear on what you know/learned. Even if you write in list format, haha fun!

Consider this as one possible tool in learning who you really are, and/or really are capable of. It seems every great person in history kept some sort of journal. Start keeping a yoga journal. Something for you, about your practice - things like your mood before and after, things you think and feel in the process. Things you don't think, don't do, are not capable of. What you think about what you are not capable of, and what you are capable of. Any physical sensation's, accomplishments, insights, how your breathing is. Your emotional state as you can or cant do something.

Just a thought - NAMASTE

My 5th entry of my yoga story:

On the topic of judgement. weather we are working, playing, cooking, sitting by ourselves, or raising a family it seems our mindset is always to judge. Judge what he is doing, judge what she is doing, judge what they are doing;

I often hear people say oh I would never do that, or I can't believe they're doing that, and I have I caught myself saying, I can't believe they would even think such a thing. This is good, that is bad, this you should do, that you shouldn't do, this is the right way, that is the wrong way.

And what happenes is we start pointing that kind of finger at ourselves and we never stop. Its such a long standing and running conversation in Society & in our minds that it never stops, and it stunts are growth.

It stops us from doing the things which we would do. It stops us from that which we might possibly accomplish, because we are constantly judging. And it stops us from loving the way we can love.

There is a very good reason why almost all versions of the Holy writ teach, encourage, and even command, not to ever judge.
And Yoga is a physical manifestation of these written teachings. We are not to judge our teachers, for they are in that position for a purpose; We are not to judge the person next to us, for we don't know how long they have been in the practice of yoga, or what they are going through in this life;

And most importantly we are not to judge ourselves. for we are only where we are at, we can move only as much as we can move, we can only breathe as much as we can breathe. One day we are able to do some asana perfectly, and the next we can barely stand.

The only important thing is to clear our minds breathe and move. And it does not matter how well we can move, or how flexible, or how strong we are. At the heart of yoga is a space of non judgment and love. just breathe and move that is the intention

My 4th entry to my yoga story;
The lessons I have learned from yoga are directly applicable to the everyday life that I see and live.
For instance, breathing is the most important aspect of yoga. In yoga breathing must remain intentional, calm, deep, and smooth. Each inhale and exhale is well timed, and synchronized with every movement. The way we breathe in yoga gives us stronger ability to move, better ability to balance, and a relaxed body for stretching,. and conversely if we do not breathe right while practicing yoga the asanas become more difficult, and sometimes even impossible. My instructors will sometimes say "if you cannot move then breathe. remember if you stop breathing then you die." "if you can't breathe then there is always child's pose. And once you have found your breath then re join the practice."

Our bodies breathing is an autonomic system. as long as we have a heartbeat, and electricity in our body, our body will choose to breathe. We do not have to think about it. The issue becomes this; as I said before, our body holds in negative emotions when not properly dealt with. so it will get tight, and start breathing shallow without your conscious permission, and specifically it will do this with your unconscious permission. If we forget to consciously exhale fully, and inhale fully very often then every movement we make becomes more difficult, our head begins to hurt and our conscious mind begins to struggle. Movement can become almost impossible, depression sets in. It is as if we are starting to die. breathing deeply helps the body to relax the mind to think, and the spirit freedom to express itself.

Remember in life, when things get difficult, and thinking gets hard to impossible; When anger frustration and doubt set into everyday activity; remember that the first thing you must do is breathe. You exhale fully, and then inhale fully. and do this until you have a smooth rhythm, and some of the stress and pain and heartache have gone, and you are free to think again. when you have that rhythm please rejoin the practice of life. Namaste

thank you for reading.

My third entry to my yoga story. This one goes out to my deeply religious friends that have some concern about the obvious religiousity of yogis, and yoginis commitment to the spirituallity of yoga;

Besides being a Yogi, I am a deeply faith filled, and religious man. So this goes out to many of you that may question why we would want to teach our body's to let go of fear, judgement, guilt, trauma etc.... Instead of just working on getting rid of those things spiritually. And I don't want this statement to be exhaustive in any way, I just want to paint a simple picture.

Our body's are connected to our spirits. Many would say that our selves are composed of body, mind, and spirit. Our spirit, and its intelligence is often referred to as our higher self, and our body is our lower self. Our spirit is that self that whispers to us to help, Love, be gentile, and compassionate etc .... And our body's are that part of us that call out to be lazy, lead to distraction, fulfill our lusts, be angry, sad, depressed etc... Our body will teach us to sit and get fat, or run away from pain. And there is no happiness in that.

The truth is that if you work on your spirit with your faith and religion you will get some pretty spectacular results, but without working on your body, and teaching it what to do, and telling it what you want for it - it will continue to drag your spirit into places it really does not want to go. But if you teach your body to obey when it does not want to - if you teach it to relax and breath - if you teach it to stretch, and strengthen - if you teach it to do what it was designed for, and capable of doing - and in that way teach it to let go of the fear, anger, regret, hate, judgement, doubt, loss etc... Then it becomes a powerful companion to your spirit. And instead of fighting you for what your higher self wants - it will help you accomplish it instead. And I challenge you to have growth in your body through yoga without having some spiritual awakenings, and strengthening as well. You see, one without the other is incomplete. Your spirit affects your body, and your body affects your spirit, and they are both in use of differing parts of your mind.

I have often said, If you have a daily practice of yoga, reading holy writ, and being of service (Love) to others you will have a complete and powerful life. There is nothing that will keep you from the growth you deserve, and accomplishing your life's purpose.

More of my story to come.

This is my second entry to my yoga story. If you have not read the first one, please do to catch up;

funny enough I still managed to avoid doing yoga for a few months. but another one of my friends appeared in my life, and he happened to be able to teach yoga. it was fun practicing with John. He coached me and helps me understand some of the difficulty of it. He tried to teach me how to breathe right but I wasn't listening very well. He wanted me to get it right, so he then introduced me to my teacher Scott Page.

Scott teaches yoga all over the Valley of the Sun. Scott teaches all different kinds of yoga; including but not limited to Hot Flow, Kundalini, Yin, Ashtonga, and even chair yoga. but my favorite version of yoga that Scott teaches is a power flow yoga. Power flow is well known, but Scott has a very special version of it. I will talk about that some other time.

The first class of Scots that I attended was just a gentle flow yoga. It was the first time I practiced through an entire 1 hour and 15min of yoga. That is where I learned my first lesson on what yoga could actually do for me. I was not looking for it, and I was not prepared the way this lesson came to me. You see all I was getting into yoga for was to repair my body from all the damage I did to it from years of abuse to extreme sports. Little did I know that my body was damaged even more from all of the negative emotions I had been harnessing. You see, in that first yoga class I found myself in childs pose crying a little bit harder than I would have liked. Emotions were surfacing that I had long since buried. But little did I know at the time that our bodies hold onto, and do not let go of the negative emotions that we never deal with properly.

Yoga has a very methodical way of giving our bodies permission to let go, and to rest. Yoga encourages the body to let go of fear. Yoga encourages the body to let go of doubt, misunderstanding, sadness, regret, blame, guilt, and even teaches the body to let go of judgement. And it teaches the body to let go of limitation. BUT, of course, those are things i learned as i went along.

Really, at the end of my first full class, i had been challenge, physically, mentally, and emotionally in such a way as i had not expected. And i committed right then to continue.

To Be continued

So I promissed you my "what happened" or my story about yoga, and why this charity came to be.

Mostly, learnd about yoga, and how it works through experience/practice.

My first experience with yoga was from a book when I was 18. I simply didnt know much about it. I had absolutely no coaching. But it seemed to me to be an extremely wonderful, and challenging exersize that had a suprizing effect on my circulation. I even spent a bunch of time telling people about it. It occured to me like something miraculous. Because, to this point I had been playing football, lifting weights, and wrestling - working my body to failure, and I had never experienced the these little additional bennefits. At that time I was sooo light up about yoga, and all of the possible bennefits I speculated about at the time. I even felt strongly impressed in my heart to continue with yoga. But lazyness and lack of focus in my youth left yoga in my past.

BUT the impression it left on my heart stuck like the residue of sweet sweet honey that never quite leaves if you only use water to rinse it off.

So my heart was ready for my next experience with yoga. I had a close friend, whom I trust to contribute to my life from a place of power/Love, call me and tell me he was thinking about me, and it occured to him that I should do yoga. In that moment I remembered, with clarity, that powerful impression that yoga had left on my heart, and I gushed that story to my friend - Along with the commitment to beggin my practice of yoga - not having any real sense of what it would really provide for me. (story will continue in my next blog - stay tuned)
