See something funky on your skin? Get it checked.

A lot of skin conditions can look like a lot of other skin conditions to the untrained eye. Sometimes a biopsy is needed to determine exactly what that is. What's certain, though, is it's better to see a doctor and get it checked than let something linger into late stage cancer.

Don't be alarmed, don't be embarrassed. Be proactive about your health.

Both men and women can get EMPD, and it’s often mistaken for a benign rash, such as eczema. Here are the signs to know.

We know that one of the ways we'll increase cancer screening, access to treatment, and quality of life in survivorship is through navigation. If you don't know what that is, it's assistance from a social worker, community health worker, nurse or other professional in overcoming barriers, finding resources, and "navigating" a way through a complicated healthcare system.

NCC is working to increase the number of trained navigators in Nevada and improve their network and education, and a lot of other coalitions are doing that too!

Cancer changes more than the body. Many survivors experience anxiety,
fear of recurrence, stress or other emotional challenges long after treatment ends. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness. It's an important part of survivorship.

Road trips and celebrations! Kayla had a great time over the weekend traveling along I-80 from Reno to Elko with NCC friend Jamie Vaughn, founder of Test Those Breasts . The pair brought breast health and lung cancer screening education to Winnemucca and Elko, including to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital's 25th anniversary party.

These two had WAY too much fun along the way, but that tends to happen when you love your work and love sharing messages about health to your neighbors.

You don’t have to feel a lump for breast cancer to be present. Mammograms and other breast screenings can detect changes before you or your health care provider can feel them, helping find cancer earlier when it can be easier to treat.For most women, breast cancer screening begins at age 40, but your personal risk factors may mean you should start earlier or consider additional screening. Talk with your health care provider about your breast cancer risk and the screening plan that’s right for you.
