JUNIOR TEAM SHOWMANSHIP IS BACK IN RENO!
One of the best parts of showing cattle is learning from the people who have been there before you, and that’s exactly what this competition is about! The Junior Team Showmanship Competition is designed to bring younger and older juniors together to work as a team, learn from each other, and build confidence in the show ring.
Here’s how it works:
⏱️ Teams of mixed ages will have 30 minutes to find an animal and get it lightly prepared for the show.
🧑🌾 Older team members will mentor the younger members, explaining how and why they’re preparing the animal the way they are.
👀 Junior Board members will be watching throughout the preparation, looking at how well the older members teach, encourage and work with the younger juniors.
🐂 Once preparation is complete, the least experienced team member will take the animal into the show ring!
The Junior Board will judge the competition and select the top team based on showmanship and, most importantly, teamwork!

Names ahead of time are helpful for planning, but juniors can also sign up to participate at the show!
