🥉 Volunteers Making Sure Kids Don’t Go Hungry! ⭐

Congratulations to Serving Our Kids Foundation, our 2026 Bronze Award recipient for Nonprofit Volunteer Program at the Stars of Nevada – Governor’s Points of Light Awards Presented by Caesars Entertainment!

Every week during the school year, Serving Our Kids volunteers help provide 4,400 weekend meal bags to food-insecure children across 97 Clark County schools. From sourcing food and assembling thousands of bags three times each week to delivering them to schools, volunteers are at the heart of making sure children have food to take home for the weekend.

And this is truly a volunteer-powered effort. More than 175 regular volunteers support the organization, while a small staff of just five employees helps coordinate the enormous undertaking. Since beginning with 600 weekend meal bags in 2013, the program has grown tremendously — powered by volunteers determined to ensure that no child participating in the program goes home on Friday without food for the weekend.

🥇 Creating a Culture of Service! ⭐

Congratulations to PDS Health, our 2026 Gold Award recipient for Corporate Volunteer Program at the Stars of Nevada – Governor’s Points of Light Awards Presented by Caesars Entertainment!

At PDS Health, service is built into the culture. Every team member receives eight hours of paid volunteer time each year, empowering employees to support causes that matter to them. Since 2009, team members have contributed more than 761,000 volunteer hours, while clinicians have provided more than $137 million in donated dentistry to over 86,000 patients.

Their commitment reaches far beyond a single day of service. Through partnerships with organizations such as Special Olympics International, charity: water, and KABOOM!, PDS Health uses the skills of its team, its resources, and long-term partnerships to improve health and expand access to care. The PDS Health Foundation also supports scholarships and specialized training to help build the next generation of dental professionals prepared to serve patients with disabilities.

It is a powerful example of what can happen when a company doesn't simply encourage its employees to give back — it gives them the time, resources, and opportunities to do it.

🥈 Creating a Place to Serve — and Belong! ⭐

Congratulations to the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, our 2026 Silver Award recipient for Corporate Volunteer Program at the Stars of Nevada – Governor’s Points of Light Awards Presented by Caesars Entertainment!

In 2025 alone, volunteers contributed an incredible 27,765 hours throughout the Library District, supporting literacy, lifelong learning, and community connection across Southern Nevada.

From preparing materials for youth programs and supporting events to organizing donated books, assisting in bookstores, welcoming library guests, and working alongside schools, senior centers, and community organizations, volunteers help extend the Library District’s reach in countless ways.

What makes this program especially meaningful is its commitment to creating opportunities for people of different ages and abilities to serve. For some, volunteering builds skills and confidence. For others, it creates friendships, purpose, and a place to belong. And some volunteers have continued giving their time to the Library District for as long as 20 years.

🥉 Building Stronger Communities Through Service! ⭐

Congratulations to Helix Electric, LLC, our 2026 Bronze Award recipient for Corporate Volunteer Program at the Stars of Nevada – Governor’s Points of Light Awards Presented by Caesars Entertainment!

At Helix Electric, community service goes far beyond charitable giving. Through Helix Helping Hands, employees identify and elevate causes close to home and then roll up their sleeves to help. In the past year alone, Helix employees contributed more than 300 volunteer hours while the company provided more than $250,000 in charitable giving to organizations across Nevada.

Their impact ranges from supporting children and families to addressing homelessness, mental health, education, veterans, and workforce development. One especially powerful example is Helix’s partnership with Hope for Prisoners, where employees have shared their skills and expertise with individuals preparing to reenter the workforce — and Helix has gone a step further by hiring graduates of the program, offering more than a job but a path toward long-term stability and opportunity.

🥇 Celebrating a Lifetime of Service! ⭐

Congratulations to Barbara Weinberg, our 2026 Gold Award recipient for Lifetime Achievement at the Stars of Nevada – Governor’s Points of Light Awards Presented by Caesars Entertainment!

For an incredible 51 years, Barbara has strengthened Northern Nevada through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and service. Her impact spans generations — from advocating for women and educational opportunities to introducing young people to Nevada history, mentoring others, and inspiring people to become involved in their communities.

Among her many contributions, Barbara helped establish the Nevada Women’s Fund, an organization that has gone on to award more than $9 million in scholarships to women in Northern Nevada. She has also given her time and leadership to the Nevada Historical Society, American Association of University Women, Temple Sinai, Master Gardeners, and numerous other efforts throughout her decades of service.

Barbara’s story is a beautiful example of what Lifetime Achievement truly means: not simply serving for many years, but creating an impact that continues through the organizations strengthened, opportunities created, and people inspired along the way.

We’re still reflecting on an incredible afternoon at the 2026 Stars of Nevada – Governor’s Points of Light Awards Presented by Caesars Entertainment. ⭐

Throughout the day, we had the privilege of hearing stories of service, compassion, leadership, resilience, and extraordinary generosity from people making a difference in communities across our state.

And one thing was abundantly clear: Nevada is filled with truly remarkable people.

These are our 2026 Stars of Nevada finalists — individuals and organizations whose stories remind us just how much good is happening every single day, often quietly and without recognition.

To each of our finalists: thank you for allowing us to share your story. Thank you for the time, heart, and energy you give to others. And thank you for showing us what service looks like in Nevada. ❤️
