Girl Scouts are invited to attend a "Day at the Mine" with i-80 Gold Corp. and learn about the importance of mineral resources in Nevada! Gear up in your personal protection equipment (PPE) and get a behind the scenes look at the high-tech work that goes on at a gold mine. Prepare for tons of photo-ops as you get up close with the equipment, take in the view from the pit lake overlook, visit the onsite laboratory, check out the samples in the geology core shack, and try your hand at reclamation. Participants will be given a hands-on tour of Lone Tree Mine and meet with women who work in various careers within the mining industry.

This is a girls only program and will include a patch, transportation, meals, and a take home mineral box!

Our Story

Girl Scouts is the place where girls can explore, discover, and just be themselves! From adventuring outdoors or experimenting with science to saving a park, or developing new skills, Girl Scouting prepares girls for a lifetime of leadership.

Sheโ€™ll get to lead her own adventure and team up with other girls in an all-girl environment to choose the exciting, hands-on activities that interest her most. Along the way, sheโ€™ll gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience:

  • Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)

  • Outdoors
