Our Emergency Disaster Services team has been on the ground at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center again today, bringing meals to the evacuation center for our neighbors affected by the Hawk Fire.

Today's meal counts:

🌤️ 383 Lunches
🌙 Dinner (just served)

Yesterday, The Salvation Army delivered chicken thighs, cereal, milk, eggs and rice to residents of Hungry Valley who have been impacted by recent wildfire evacuations. While recovery continues, we remain committed to helping ensure families have access to the food and support they need during this challenging time.

We are especially grateful to Jack, Assistant Manager at Costco in Sparks, for helping us shop for these essential items and making it possible to respond quickly to the community's needs. Partnerships like these help turn compassion into action.

To the families of Hungry Valley, please know that you are not alone. We continue to stand alongside you and all those affected by the fires as recovery efforts move forward.

Together, we are stronger.

We're out here at the Walmart on Kietzke collecting school supplies for Stuff the Bus! We'll be here until 2 p.m. today. If you're able, please come out and support local kids. Help us send them back to school with the supplies they need to succeed!

When disaster strikes, communities come together. This morning, The Salvation Army partnered with the American Red Cross to provide breakfast to evacuees impacted by the Bug Fire, Fred Mountain Fire and Stallion Fire. We served hot breakfast sandwiches, cereal, fruit and milk at the Evelyn Mount Community Center and the Pyramid Lake Tribal Health Clinic, which serves the communities of Wadsworth, Nixon and Sutcliffe. We were able to provide 330 meals to evacuees and 350 comfort kits containing essential hygiene supplies to the Red Cross for distribution.

Behind every evacuation is a family facing uncertainty, a neighbor worried about home and a community hoping for good news. We are humbled to offer comfort, support and a warm meal during this difficult time.

Please join us in praying for those who have been displaced, those whose homes and livelihoods remain threatened and the first responders working around the clock to protect lives and communities.
