Look who’s back 🤩 the raw kale salad has been a classic at the Co-op for nearly a decade! Made with all of the healthiest ingredients like organic olive oil, organic fresh lemon juice, organic kale, organic carrots, organic pumpkin seeds, organic mint, organic garlic, and organic gluten-free tamari. The dressing is an umami bomb that will make you crave kale. Yep, you definitely heard that right. 😅

This just in from - sidenote, I don’t understand why I can’t repost her’s straight onto our timeline.

UPDATE 1 hour later: more info about the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), and the fact that these spraying mandates are coming from the federal level, which trumps the state level decision making - continued updates in our stories.

Looks like the pressure isn’t strong enough. What we posted yesterday went viral but it sounds like we may need to come to these folks directly. Who out there knows who is on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency?

Every day citizens and farmers in other countries are rising up against corrupt powers that be and they are winning. This is our time to stop being complacent.

Great Basin was the first Co-op in the nation (back in 2005) to define what is truly local as the FOODSHED. We liked this idea because it allowed us to actually track the environmental impact of local food. It allowed us to create buying guidelines that put barriers around food sprayed with toxic chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides like GLYPHOSATE (Round Up)!

Look at where Lake Tahoe is, and what it is connected to in the watershed. Once they spray the Lake Tahoe area with glyphosate, this herbicide will make its way into all of the various creeks and streams and waterways that head back to the lake and then down the Truckee River and eventually to Pyramid Lake… Affecting every single farmer and rancher that uses water from these sources. Not to mention the fact that the aquifers will be contaminated. The Internet (specifically AI) will tell you that the half-life of glyphosate is anywhere from 2 to 60 days but you should ask farmers and scientists that really know… the ones who have studied this and have seen it with their own eyes… dead soil for YEARS! Don’t listen to the bots polluting the Internet with false material.

GLYPHOSATE CAUSES CANCER. It is undeniable at this point and well documented. The original studies in the 90s that said it was safe were later found to be doctored by scientists paid by the Monsanto corporation. Why do you think there are over $400 billion in shadow settlements for Hodgkins lymphoma related to the glyphosate in Round Up?

As Nevadans, this is really tricky because the spraying is proposed in South Lake Tahoe, which is technically on the California side… But it’s all coming down to us.

Shout out to for continually advocating and creating awareness around these issues. Thank you for fighting for the people and the planet - she has got a CALL TO ACTION on her page 🌍 💙💙🤍🤍🌍

P.S. In no universe is glyphosate related to any kind of national security… only the security of financial streams 💵 for corporations (who want to kill us), and massive payouts for their lobbyists and their bought and paid politicians.
