The 1701 Group

The 1701 Group All-volunteer organization with 11 philanthropic programs, supported by Thrift & Gift on Vassar, which is open from 10-4 Tues through Sat. from 10-3.

at 1701 Vassar Street, Reno. We take donations Tu, Thu, and Sat. Formerly Assistance League Reno-Sparks. Assistance League of Reno-Sparks' 12 philanthropic programs are 100 percent administered and manned by our member-volunteers. Currently there are over 300 member-volunteers who donate more than 51,000 hours annually. The philanthropic programs focus on children, seniors, veterans and victims of

sexual assault. Each program was developed over time in response to meet a specific need in the community. Assistance League of Reno-Sparks is able to operate and fund the programs through generous donations and proceeds generated by the Thrift Shop and private donations.

Every fall, we take over 3,000 elementary students shopping for new school clothes. Each student also gets a bag full of hygiene items. This week, we bagged them all up in our new Philanthropic Support Center, just behind the Thrift & Gift on Vassar. Our volunteers are ready for 30 Clothes 4 Kids events that start in just a few weeks!
