Remember the expression, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”? This quote emphasizes that teaching someone a skill is more beneficial than providing temporary help.

At PLS, we do just that. We believe in equipping our young men with the knowledge of “where” their food comes from, how to grow it and process it. This lesson was on making bread, starting from harvesting the wheat, threshing, winnowing and milling it down to flour to make bread.

Building confidence within a young man comes in many different forms and lessons. Self defense is one of those lessons. When we teach a young man how to defend himself, it keeps him and those around him safer.

PLS Farm Ministry is a one-of-a-kind program entailing a wide variety of challenges to strengthen the minds, bodies, and spirits of these boys with peer teamwork and male mentorship!

Here are some ways you can give:

· Our website (plsfarmministry.org) where you can give once or set up monthly giving of any amount. Our consistent donors are much appreciated!

· Purchase a sign to be displayed in PLS The Rock gym (like the ones pictured here) for $325/year to either advertise your business or simply encourage all who come in.

· Sponsor a Summer Trip for $500.

· Join The Rock gym and enhance your health and fitness with us in an incredible atmosphere.

· Contact us to see other ways you can help, ask any questions you may have, or let us know how we can serve or be a resource for you.

PLS Fest 2026 was so much fun! We couldn’t have done it without the support of the community and the wonderful volunteers for PLS! We raised enough money to cover some summer trips for the boys!

Thank you Chris Scott and Soul Season for putting on this special event for the boys. Thank you to all the volunteers for helping make this event so successful!
