8/27/26 Reidsville Fire Department ,Tattnall County Fire, Tattnall County EMS went to the Ryam Collins chip mill and toured there facility for better knowledge of where different Equipment in the plant is and for there Fire prodocall if an emergency would accour at their plant. This was a very productive training and safety meeting. We would like to thank Ryam Chip Mill and their personnel for their professionalism and wisdom of their safety plans for the plant. Reidsville Fire Department, Tattnall County Fire responded to a brush fire on Milton Varnadore Rd after the fire was extinguished we noticed this little guy just keep watching us like he might be interested in fighting fire when he gets older. We called him over to the truck and let him spray a little water. I pretty sure he may be hooked for life, we try to start them out young and get them interested. We appreciate the help little man.

Today 8/18/26 aroud 2 PM Tattnall County Fire, Reidsville Fire Department, Rogers State Prison Fire and Ga. Forestry Commission was dispatched to Clyde C. Kennedy Rd to a brush fire treating a barn and a home. First unit to arrive with command advised a large area of brush was burning that had not got into the structures. With a quick response from Fire personnel we were able to keep it from burning the structures. Remember it is very dry again and hot, Be careful if you are going to burn get a permit from the Ga. Forestry Commission. Make sure the fire is out with the afternoon wind it will make your control burn reignite and possibly burn what you don't want it to burn. As always we think the Georgia Department of Corrections Fire Services for their support in keeping Tattnall County safe and protected.

Today 8/14/26 around 1:30 PM Reidsville Fire Department,Tattnall County Fire, and Tattnall EMS was dispatched to Goons Bay Circle to a structure fire. First unit to arrive advised a camper fire fully engulfed in flames. Fire personnel had the fire under control in 15 minutes. The camper was a total loss with no injuries to report. Mop-up was completed and all fire personnel returned back to their station. During the investigation there was no electricity or water to the camper the cause is unknown.

UPDATE.

All hydrants in Reidsville have been flushed and checked for different issues. We will be completing a report and give the Mayor and City Works a list of issues that was found. We did finish flushing the hydrants for the whole town tonight with the hard work and dedication from your volunteers so we do not have to do the extra night of flushing.
Just remember if your water is rusty color run your tap water until it clears up it shouldn't take but a minute or 2.

ALERT.

Today 8/13/26 is the day Reidsville Fire Department will conduct the mandatory hydrants flushing from 6PM to 10PM. If your water turns brown or rusty color please run your tap water for a minute or 2 to flush your pipes. We are sorry for the inconvenience but it's a must that we have to make sure the hydrants are in working order. We will start at the city limits working toward the middle of town, all city street will be checked. Please share this and let your neighbors know.

Reidsville Ga. Police Department ,Reidsville Fire Department and Tattnall County EMS responded to East Brumby Ave in Reidsville due to a vehicle vs power pole. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt checked by EMS. Ga. Power was called to replace 2 broken power poles, so if you don't not have power it is for that reason. Ga Power is on scene. East Brumby is shut down at this time.

ATTENTION: TO THE CITIZENS IN THE CITY LIMITS OF REIDSVILLE GA.

Start this month August the Reidsville Fire Department will be doing our annual flushing of the city fire hydrants August 13th and August 27th from 6PM to 10PM.

Hydrants over time can build minerals and iron in the water mains. Flushing hydrants creates a high velocity flow to score pipes and push these settlements out. It also verifies that a hydrants water flow, pressure and mechanical parts are checked to ensure valves open and close properly.

So on these dates water may be discolored, yellow or rusty colors due to stirred up sediments and a drop in water pressure. Please avoid doing laundry and washing dishes from 6PM till 10 PM while flushing is occurring.

If your water appears to be discolored, run you water tap for several minutes until it flows clear. Reidsville Fire Department is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will remind everyone on our page the day of flushing the hydrants.

Please share and get with your neighbors that may not have social media of the flushingof the hydrants. We will ask the city to send out alerts the day of the flushing.

8/1/26 around 4:30 PM Reidsville Fire Department was dispatched to Hwy 23 and Thomas K Scott Rd for a single vehicle accident with entrapment. The first unit to arrive advised the vehicle was on it side with a female still inside the vehicle. The firefighter cut the front windshield out of the vehicle and assisted Tattnall County Ems remove the patient out of the vehicle. The patient was transported to the local hospital to be evaluated for her injuries. Tattnall County Sheriff Department and Ga State Patrol investigated the accident. Reidsville Fire Department returned back to their station. Please say a Prayer for the driver.

After returning back to the fire house after a call, a employee from the Reidsville Ga. Police Department brought her child over to sit in the big red firetruck and work the siren a little bit. So with the smile on his face I'm pretty sure he is more impressed with the Fire Department than the Police Department, Sorry Matt Lynn, Cory Mccoy, Jake Kraus. As always the Fire Departments likes to make that big smile on children faces.
