Aim High: Tattnall County 4-H Archery Team Welcomes New and Returning Archers
There’s something special about drawing a bow, taking a deep breath, finding your target and watching an arrow fly exactly where you intended. Tattnall County 4-H Archery is giving local youth the opportunity to develop those skills while building confidence, discipline and friendships along the way.
The Tattnall County 4-H Archery Team is open to students in grades 4–12 who are interested in learning and competing in the sport of archery. Whether a student is picking up a bow for the first time or returning for another season, the program provides an opportunity to practice, develop skills and become part of a team.
Archery is about much more than hitting the center of a target. Young archers learn to focus, follow directions, practice safely and work toward personal goals. They also have the opportunity to build relationships with other youth who share an interest in the sport.
Team practices will be held on Sundays from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
💚Mandatory Orientation Meeting💚
All new and returning archers are required to attend an orientation meeting before participating in the program. Parents should also plan to attend.

The orientation will provide families with important information about the upcoming archery season, including program expectations, equipment requirements and registration.
💚 What Does It Cost?💚
Registration is $140 per student, which covers registration costs for three archery matches. Fundraising opportunities are available to help families offset the cost of participation.
Students are required to provide their own competition-style bow, and all bows must be approved by the Tattnall County 4-H archery coach. An average competition-style bow typically costs at least $350, and your child will also need arrows, bow release, and other supplies. Coaches strongly encourage families to attend the orientation and talk with them about bow requirements before making a purchase. If you purchase a bow that is not suitable for your child's size and eye dominance, you will be required to re-purchase the correct bow prior to your child joining the team.
If your child enjoys competition, wants to learn a new skill or is simply curious about archery, the Tattnall County 4-H Archery Team may be a great opportunity to get involved.
