This past weekend (5/1 - 5/4) Greenlock proudly hosted the American Hippotherapy Association’s - Hippotherapy Treatment Principles Part II course! ✨
We welcomed 14 participants from around the world for four days of learning, hands-on experiences with our incredible clients and horses, and meaningful classroom discussions. This course gives licensed therapists a greater understanding and appreciation of hippotherapy. Equine knowledge and skills, theoretical models of treatment including the hippotherapy conceptual framework, and practical hands-on experience are explored and experienced to further understand and provide effective and safe incorporation of equine movement as part of a therapy practice. This 4-day course provides therapists the opportunity to treat live patients in a multidisciplinary setting with faculty supervision and dynamic problem solving
A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers, devoted staff, AHA faculty and especially our horses, for creating such a warm, educational, and inspiring weekend! We truly enjoyed having everyone and meeting so many talented individuals. 🐴

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Marty.

For nearly ten years, Marty called Greenlock home, touching countless lives. More than a teacher, he was a kind, gentle guide and a trusted friend whose impact will be felt for years to come.

He carried many clients through important milestones with a steady, patient presence, giving so much of himself both in the arena and beyond.

Marty shared a special bond with his best buddy, Stellar. They were inseparable, often found sharing hay, snuggling, and napping in the sun together.

In his final days, Marty grazed peacefully alongside Stellar and Misty, surrounded by volunteers and staff who adored him, with plenty of treats and love.

Marty’s legacy will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed.

Meet Olivia from Bristol Aggie Co-Op program (Bristol County Agricultural High School): Olivia has volunteered 3 days a week over the last several months here at Greenlock. Olivia assists directly with therapy sessions, as well as long lining and lunging our horses. We are very fortunate to have Olivia. Olivia will continue volunteering with us until she begins her Elementary Education coursework this fall.
