As our 40th season comes to a close, we want to thank three very important people in SDC: Co-Directors Joey Shortall and Sarah Rose and Board President Denise Adkins. This season marks their final season in these roles.
Joey and Sarah both started with the Chorale in 2014, designing concert programming, running weekly rehearsals, and serving as key leaders to our organization. Joey left in 2017, only to return in 2024 at a time when the Chorale unexpectedly needed a conductor. We are grateful he was able to help us in a tough time!
Sarah Rose has been with us all of these years, not only conducting and accompanying, but also being a key player in bringing in younger generations to the Chorale. As a music teacher in the local high school, she encouraged many of her students to audition for our scholarship. Many of whom chose to stay in the Chorale after high school. We are very grateful for your lasting impact!
Denise has been singing with the Chorale for many years and stepped into the role of President in 2020. She brought the Chorale through some of its toughest years - the pandemic - and through some of its proudest: this 40th Anniversary Season. Though she is no longer president after this year, she has introduced lasting positive change and growth to the board that will continue to develop under the next president.
We are extremely grateful for all three of you and your dedication to us. We wish you the best in the next chapters of your lives. 🎶✨💙
