Celebrating 40 years, Southern Delaware Chorale is a non-profit community chorus based in Rehoboth Beach. We rehearse in Georgetown. No audition necessary.

Each year we present three concerts and are always looking for new singers. Consider joining today!

Meet the 2026-2027 High School Scholars with the Southern Delaware Chorale!

Today we want to introduce you to Summer Everngam, a senior at Indian River High School!

Summer has been singing for as long as she can remember. Her love of music began in kindergarten when she started taking choir at Southern Delaware School for the Arts, and she has continued to make music a central part of her life. Summer participates in school musicals, a ca****la choir, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and she also performs in school and local theater productions and spins with the IRHS Color Guard. Outside of the arts, Summer enjoys traveling with her family and has had the opportunity to visit many places around the world. After high school, she plans to attend college while continuing to pursue her passions for singing, acting, and travel.

Along with funding for private lessons to further their vocal skill, recipients enjoy the opportunity to perform as a member of the Chorale during weekly rehearsals and concert performances, employing the skills learned through lessons the scholarship provides. Meet the 2026-2027 High School Scholars with the Southern Delaware Chorale!

Today we want to introduce you to Janel Garcia Montaña, a senior at Indian River High School!

Janel has been involved in choir throughout her high school career. She has performed with both County and All-State Choir and enjoys singing at community events alongside her fellow choir members. Music is especially meaningful to Janel because it is a passion she shares with her father, who is also a musician. When she isn’t singing, Janel enjoys caring for her many pets — one dog, two birds, a hamster, and a fish — and spending time with her family. She hopes to build a future centered on helping others, potentially pursuing a career as a children’s psychologist or teacher. For Janel, serving others is a passion that extends well beyond music.

Along with funding for private lessons to further their vocal skill, recipients enjoy the opportunity to perform as a member of the Chorale during weekly rehearsals and concert performances, employing the skills learned through lessons the scholarship provides. Meet the 2026-2027 High School Scholars with the Southern Delaware Chorale!

Today we want to introduce you to Evelyn Williams, a senior at Indian River High School!

Evelyn is an active member of the Southern Delaware Chorale and has built an impressive résumé in music and theater. She participates in drama club, a ca****la choir, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and County and All-State Choir. Evelyn has also performed in musical theater through productions at Southern Delaware School for the Arts and Indian River High School and has been an active member of Possum Point Players since 2022. Outside of performing, she enjoys volunteering in her community and spending time with her mother and grandmother. After high school, Evelyn plans to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering while continuing to participate in theater and choir.

Last night was our Season Kick-Off Potluck for the 2026–2027 season! 🎶

We enjoyed a delish dinner, sweet desserts, and topped off the evening with a brief rehearsal for our December concert—with our new Artistic Director, Amy Morgan, and Accompanist, Katherine Williams! ✨

Our 2026–2027 season kick-off potluck is tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Georgetown Presbyterian Church — and it’s not too late to join us!

Never sung with the Chorale before? Thinking about joining but want to try it out first? Come on over! Tonight is a great chance to meet our singers, welcome our new leadership team, enjoy some food, and experience the Chorale before deciding whether membership is right for you.

And prospective members, you don’t need to bring anything but yourself! There’s no obligation to join and no membership dues required to come try us out.

Throwing it back to our recent Paris trip! Let's set the scene: 100+ degree heat (Europe is not known for their air conditioning!) and wearing concert black all day and night...it was a little toasty leading up to the concert. Sweat was running down their faces and backs! But, luckily, not a single person (out of 420 singers) fainted or became ill. In fact, they all were so caught up in the excitement of performing Elaine Hagenbergs music, they didn't hardly notice! It truly was a once in a lifetime experience!

Welcome to Amy Morgan, Artistic Director beginning in our 2026-2027 Season!

Amy is an accomplished conductor, educator, and pianist whose education includes a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance from Salisbury University and Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from Messiah University. She is a passionate director and who brings musicians to their greatest potential through thoughtful programming, ex*****on, and leadership. We are thrilled to have her on board!
