We completed Hammer Day #2 today as we worked on the 3 season shower house at Seven Mountains Scout Camp. Most of the work is completed except a couple of pieces of trim to install. One more work day and then on to the next project.

Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity joined today to help with the work. Mike, Sue and Jay worked along with Frank and Charlie figuring out the angles and lengths to cut. Keep the mind working and thinking through the steps. Measure twice. Cut once. Oh, cut again. Another perfect fit.

Next week will be Hammer Day #3. Wednesday, October 21st.

STOP!!!! HAMMER TIME!!!!!

Hammer Day #2 will be on Wednesday October 14th at Seven Mountains Scout Camp. Please plan to meet at the Dining Hall between 8:30 and 9:00am. The Dining Hall is the large building on the right after the main parking lot. Meeting in the Dining Hall will give you an idea of the scope of work in November removing the existing ceiling, staining the tongue and groove lumber and installing the new ceiling.

We plan to continue working on the 3 season shower house this week by finishing the trim work around the doors. We can have multiple crews working various rooms as the rooms are small with limited space. Material will be on site along with tools. So, I like my own tape measure, pencils, speed square and plan to bring my tool belt but it is not necessary. The site is accessible for vehicles.

Please plan to bring your own lunch, safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves. A microwave is available if needed.

If you can make it this week, please let me know so we can develop crews and determine if additional projects can be worked on by the Hammer Crew.

Thank you Centre County Sheriff Sampsel

Sheriff Sampsel visited with Troop 34 and Troop 35 to discuss the constitutional rights of US citizens for Rank requirements. We are grateful to have a Sheriff that is so supportive of the Scouting program and our community.
