Tonight our Fair Queen Program held our monthly meeting, and the focus was on public speaking preparedness 🎤
We spent time working on:
• Building confidence
• Creating a strong, well-structured speech
• Engaging with your audience
To put those skills into action, the girls each randomly selected a topic, had about 15 minutes to prepare, and then delivered their speeches—talk about thinking on your feet!
We had some fun and creative topics:
• Abbie spoke on “If you could add any new animal to the Mifflin County Youth Fair, what would it be?” — she chose alpacas 🦙
• Lillian answered “If you could be any animal, which would you be?” — a desert fox
• Elle shared her thoughts on “Why is it important to come early and stay late at the fair?” — reminding us that you never know who you might help or what you might experience
• Libby took on “What is your favorite kitchen utensil?” — and made a great case for the spatula
We love seeing these girls step out of their comfort zones and grow in confidence each month. Their commitment, enthusiasm, and willingness to try new things is what makes this program so special 🌟
