The night before Christmas, we wandered the lane,
Past candy-cane lights in red, white, and green.
Each house glowed brighter than the last one before,
With magic and music and cheer by the door.

The lights gently shimmered, a festive display,
Turning wintery darkness to holiday day.
On Candy Cane Lane, with hearts full and bright,
We carried that joy through the rest of the night. 🎄✨

As you take in the lights all over town this year, consider this poem...

The Light of the World

It's Advent
and the neighborhood is a sudden
display of lights in dark December days
bllnking or hanging like icicles from homes
or circling trees and fences in front lawns
and big picture windows -
flashing white and blue, green and red
changing colors as we draw near
in the car or on foot
we pause to look
to warm our cold hearts
heal our distracted minds
ignite memories of togetherness
longing for the memory to return again
the way we remembered it
or better yet
what we'd heard all our lives and believed
the meaning that's hidden beneath
the sparkle of the day
or that bright star of long ago
that pulsed in the sky
to almost explode
and people traveled
on beast or on foot
to get a glimpse of
what draws us all in
and never grows old.

HOW TO ENJOY CANDY CANE LANE 2024.

1. What is Candy Cane Lane, Reedsburg, Wisconsin? Candy Cane Lane is Sunset Drive in Reedsburg.

2. The people who live on Candy Cane Lane add a candy cane (or two, or four, or 20) to their outdoor decorations.

3. We all plan to "Light It Up" by December 7 and the lights stay on through New Years Day. (Some a little longer). Most people set their lights to come on at dark and stay on until 10 p.m.ish.

4. We invite everybody to take a drive and visit Candy Cane Lane, Reedsburg, Wisconsin to see our lights and enjoy the holidays with us.

5. This is a free, fun, drive-able experience for all.

6. If you want to drive really slowly and creep along to look at the lights, please pull over for cars behind you. Some of us just want to get home.

7. On the flip side - please do not fly up and over the hill on Sunset Drive. We have oodles of little kids on our street - and we love them. Don't hit them. Again, Santa is watching.

8. Enjoy! We love spreading the light during Christmas!

Be sure to check out Snowman's Pass (aka Harvest Lane) and take the loop along 19th Street and Winfield Drive. Our neighbors are fantastic!

We also encourage you to check out Christmas at Webb Park! It's an awesome, drive-able light experience!

Harvest Lane is becoming Snowman Pass this Christmas!!! When you visit Candy Cane Lane, be sure to turn onto Harvest Lane to see the snowmen! The neighbors of Harvest Lane will be incorporating snowmen into their outdoor decorations. So Much Fun!!!
