The official Reed City Hometown Heroes Walking Tour Map is now available, with a physical map coming out next.

After months of organizing, sorting, mapping, and walking the streets… the official walking tour map honoring over 120 Veterans is finally ready and here are the proofs.

This map was created to help families and visitors walk and visit the city, find banners easier, and experience the full program throughout Reed City.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it. Reed City Honors Our Heroes by Remembering Service and Honoring Sacrifice.

Hometown Heroes now line the streets of Reed City honoring the men and women who served our country… To every family that trusted this program with your Hero’s name, photo, and story — Thank You.

Huge thank you to the City of Reed City and the DPW crew for getting these banners installed throughout the city.

Now, go take a drive or a walk through town.
Slow down.
Look up.
And remember the faces behind the freedom..

Today, May 16th, 2026, we recognize Armed Forces Day — a day honoring the men and women currently serving in all six branches of the United States Military:

🇺🇸 Army
🇺🇸 Navy
🇺🇸 Marine Corps
🇺🇸 Air Force
🇺🇸 Coast Guard
🇺🇸 Space Force

Established in 1949 and first observed in 1950, Armed Forces Day serves as a unified day of appreciation for those actively serving our country around the world.

122 banners sorted, organized, and ready for the next step.

Through all the spreadsheets, the photos, the messages, the boxes, the sorting, the zoning maps, and 122 banners later… this thing would not have come together without help behind the scenes.

Huge thank you to Marissa and Rebeca for stepping in throughout this program. And Joe at Gates Flag and Banner, for always ensuring this program happens and with those three helping organize, zone, sort, this entire operation keeps moving forward. 🫡🇺🇸

The community sees the banners hanging proudly throughout Reed City… but they don’t always see the hours of work it takes before a single one ever reaches a pole.

Next step — Huge Thank You to the Reed City DPW crew as installation begins soon. Hanging 122 banners throughout the city is no small task, and we appreciate the work they put in to help bring this program to life. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day in Reed City is going to be something special this year. 🇺🇸

With 122 Hometown Heroes banners displayed throughout the city, our streets will be filled with the faces and stories of the men and women who served this country.

Thank you to every family that trusted this program with their heroes’ memory and service. Seeing Reed City come together to honor them all is truly incredible. 🫡

A huge thank you as well to the City of Reed City and the DPW crew for helping make this display possible. The amount of work that goes in behind the scenes to hang over 120 banners throughout the city does not go unnoticed. 🇺🇸

Join us Monday, May 25th for the Reed City Memorial Day parade at 9am. The parade is to honor and mourn those military personnel that died in the line of duty. The parade will start at 9am in front of Pere Marquette Bistro and Catering and head west on Upton, stopping in front of the Courthouse for the laying of a wreath. From the Courthouse, the parade will proceed to the Woodland Cemetery for a short community service.
