This morning, our club welcomed Kim Brejcha and Melissa Hauger from 100+ Women Who Care of Mecosta County! Thank you for sharing about your group and the amazing investment that has been made to non-profits in our area! You can learn more about their group at their website. Our club also would like to congratulate Reed City Robotics on their advancement to the World Championships in Houston, TX. The club helped sponsor a student with a donation of $200 to Superintendent Mike Sweet. Contact the robotics club or Reed City High School if you'd also like to financially support this amazing group of Cyber Coyotes!!! Good luck at Nationals!

Our club hosted four Reed City High School band students this morning. They performed music from their recent district festival selections. Thank you to Mr. Sweet for coordinating this and inviting Joel, Austin, Aubrey, and Maddie. We enjoyed it!

The Reed City Rotary Club scholarship application for 2026 is now open!

The Rotary Club of Reed City has established the Reed City Rotary Scholarship and the John McDowell Rotary Scholarship thanks to generous donations. Applicants must be accepted at a university, community college, vocational college, trade school or certificate program for the upcoming school year. If scholarship money is awarded, this is the only program that will receive the funds on behalf of the applicant.

The Reed City Rotary Scholarship is designated to be made available to graduating seniors or recent graduates of Reed City, Evart, Pine River and Marion High Schools who wish to attend an accredited vocational-technical school, Community College or University. Certificate, associate and higher degrees in vocational areas such as construction, auto, truck and heavy equipment mechanic, plumbing, HVAC, electrician, machine tool, cosmetology, nursing aide, nursing and other vocational skilled trade programs as well as pharmacy are eligible.

The John McDowell Rotary Scholarship is available to graduating seniors or recent graduates with a preference to students residing within the Reed City school district. This scholarship is open to students in all majors with a heavy factor on those with volunteer experience supporting their community.

Application is due by April 1st, 2026.

The City of Reed City had lights placed on downtown trees as part of the Sesquicentennial Celebration. They look so great that our club decided to purchase them from the vendor and keep them up all year long! Rotary is also purchasing lights to be placed on trees in the 200 block as well! Thank you to Jim Chatel and Shine of Traverse City for your help!

Thank you to the Reed City Coyote Cross Country team for helping remove our downtown flower planters for winter! It was a huge help and we truly appreciate it!

Thank you to the Osceola County Youth Foundation (high schoolers from Reed City, Pine River & Marion) for spending their morning getting our planter boxes ready for planting. After a wonderful breakfast at Pere Marquette Bistro-they then power washed, scrubbed & filled the boxes so they are ready for flowers. Thank you for the hard work!
