Working people pay more in taxes—proportionally—than the richest Americans, who grow their wealth through passive income like capital gains.

And major corporations? Many exploit loopholes and pay next to nothing.

This isn’t a bug in the system—it’s a feature. A policy choice designed to protect privilege and preserve inequality.

It’s time for a tax code that values fairness—not special treatment for corporations and the ultra-wealthy.

Inflation and tariffs don’t affect everyone equally.

When costs rise, low-income families suffer most. Price hikes aren’t just inconvenient—they’re back-breaking.

At MNRS, we believe direct cash assistance provides families with the dignity, trust, and flexibility they urgently need.

Because economic justice begins with dignity.

📣 Standing Firm for Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are not just ideals—they are the foundation of strong, thriving, and just communities. These principles are core to our values, intrinsic to our mission, and central to who we are.

💪 In the face of unprecedented challenges to equity, we remain unwavering in our commitment to:
✔️ Creating opportunities for all
✔️ Amplifying marginalized voices
✔️ Cultivating belonging
✔️ Embracing diverse perspectives

Through economic support, capacity-sharing, and advocacy, we are working to build a world where everyone feels valued, empowered, and included—especially the most vulnerable in our communities.

🤝 The journey toward equity isn’t easy, but it’s essential. Together, we can continue advancing the values that unite us, ensuring fairness and opportunity for future generations.

✨ Thank you for standing with us. Let’s move forward, together.

We’re so honored to have partnered with the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center NICU to make a special impact for hundreds of families.

Together, we enabled NICU families—current and graduates—to create and enjoy a day of cherished memories at Gilroy Gardens with their loved ones. 🌟

Our heartfelt appreciation to the incredible NICU team for allowing us to be part of their families’ journey and a special thank you to Gardens for making the day possible.

Here’s to bringing joy and supporting families in our community! 💌

This , My New Red Shoes is proud to add our voice to a vital call for Congress to permanently restore the charitable deduction for non-itemizers, making it easier for all Americans to support causes they care about.

Nonprofits are the backbone of our communities, providing essential services and opportunities for millions of people. However, since the non-itemizer deduction expired in 2021, fewer households are donating and charitable giving has declined significantly.

Restoring the charitable deduction for non-itemizers isn’t just good tax policy—it’s a proven way to incentivize generosity, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to causes that matter and strengthening nonprofits’ ability to deliver vital services.

Together, we can work to build a stronger, healthier, and more equitable society for all. 💙

Research demonstrates that cash assistance is the most effective way to support low-income families' most immediate needs. We are highlighting Guaranteed Income Pilot Programs from around the country, as compiled by a partnership between the Center for Guaranteed Income Research, Stanford Basic Income Lab, and Mayors for a Guaranteed Income.

This highlight focuses on the Income Mobility Program for Atlanta Community Transformation (I.M.P.A.C.T), a pilot program that ran from January 2022 to May 2023, administered by the Urban League of Greater Atlanta. The program was implemented to help communities achieve economic stability. It served 300 residents of the City of Atlanta, providing them with $500/month of unrestricted cash payments for one year. Median annual household income for program participants was $12,000, compared to $85,251 average for area residents.

A spending breakdown and more impact stories are available on the Guaranteed Income Pilots Dashboard (link in bio).

📷 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A program participant highlight, with text at the top reading, "Guaranteed Income Pilot Highlight: Income Mobility Program for Atlanta Community Transformation (IMPACT). Latrice, IMPACT Program Participant." On the right is a photograph of a smiling dark-skinned woman standing outdoors in a brightly colored outfit. On the left is the following text, "Latrice is a single mother of three daughters. She applied for the I.M.P.A.C.T. program as her job was shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The guaranteed income helped put food on the table and pay utility bills during this time. 'I was taking care of my mother during this time, and she passed away. Because of these payments, I was able to take care of her expenses. I have done everything I needed to do with these payments to keep my family up and running.'"

In honor of Black Maternal Health Week, we are elevating the voices of the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Inc (BMMA). is a national network of Black women-led organizations and multi-disciplinary professionals who work to ensure that all Black Mamas have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy.

According to the CDC, Black birthing people are 3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than White birthing people in the US. The CDC notes that more than 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable.

NOW is the time to demand comprehensive public and private insurance coverage for reproductive health care, as well as improved access to patient-centered, culturally competent care for all birthing people.
