🌟 Meet David Segura — Job Navigator & Skill Builder in North Fair Oaks 🌟
David Segura lives right here in North Fair Oaks and plays a vital role in our workforce program as a Job Navigator and Skill Builder.
David works closely with participants preparing for careers in Elderly Care, Childcare, and Entrepreneurship, helping them build the practical skills they need to succeed at work. Through Job Dialogue sessions, he teaches how to communicate with employers, ask questions, handle workplace situations, and advocate for themselves — skills that directly impact job readiness and economic stability.
English learning is woven into everything David does. Having taught himself English with no formal training, David understands how intimidating workplace communication can feel. He knows what it’s like to rehearse a sentence over and over or worry about saying the wrong thing, and he uses that experience to coach women with patience, clarity, and confidence.
As a job navigator, David listens to each participant’s story, helps identify strengths, and connects language learning to real-world employment goals. Working alongside Jeanne Gross, retired Canada College Dean, David is helping families move beyond learning English to using it as a pathway to long-term financial opportunity.
💙 This is what skill-based workforce support looks like.
