Thank you to everyone who rebuilt together alongside us - whether painting, reconstructing a deck, installing a ramp, building a fence, landscaping, or securing windows, your team and individual efforts helped ensure safer homes and communities across the Peninsula.

Rebuilding Together Peninsula has a vision of safe homes for everyone.

And a crucial element toward that is ensuring our clients have adequate fire prevention measures in place.

By correcting faulty appliances or wiring, removing clutter & debris, and installing working smoke detectors & fire extinguishers, RTP can help prevent the start and spread of a house fire.

And if a home does experience a fire, our work in eliminating trip hazards, ensuring functioning exit points, and installing safe lighting can minimize damage and injury to household members.

What's more, this critical service is provided at no cost to eligible neighbors.

For older neighbors like Edward, keeping up with home repairs as they age can be challenging.

A combat veteran, Edward needed critical but simple repairs to his home to make it safer and more comfortable for everyday living.

With a team of volunteers, Rebuilding Together: restored water access to the bathroom, installed grab bars to reduce fall risk and installed a handrail at the entrance to the home.

Simple fixes like these made Edward's home more livable, and one more affordable home is preserved.

Did you know that, nationally, the cost to repair 18 such homes is roughly equivalent to building 1 new one?

We're proud to be a part of the Rebuilding Together national network, whose work in repairing homes and revitalizing communities is a critical piece of the affordable housing conversation.

How does RTP see being a good neighbor?

By knowing that ensuring sustainable and healthy housing revitalizes communities...and can rebuild the lives of neighbors that have shared our communities perhaps for decades.

Offering critical repair modifications at no cost to eligible neighbors means offering the comfort, security, and dignity of a safe home.

Over more than 35 years and in partnership with a network of volunteers and supporters, RTP has serviced more than 4,000 households and 400 facilities, in true neighbors-helping-neighbors fashion.

Having secure and stable entry and egress in a home is a critical element of eliminating trip and fall hazards.

For this Mountain View senior, rebuilt steps from RTP allowed her to feel safer in her home.

“I just wanted to thank you for all your efforts on my behalf. Because of your craftsmanship, I feel safer using those back stairs. Thank you again for all your hard work.”

Such work, and including installing grab bars, railings, and other accessibility modifications, is core to the work we do. Aging in place - safely - is a goal we strive to ensure for all our neighbors.

Skilled volunteers and subcontractors have contributed countless hours to our critical work - building fences, installing roofs, refurbishing facilities, improving community school environments - and much more.
