"Thank you for taking care of me. I feel like I am in a new home. (RTP techs went above and beyond the call of duty."

So were the thanks we received from Roger, a senior homeowner on San Mateo County' coastside.

Roger's home repair needs grew out of his reach, and he fortunately partnered with RTP to address more urgent items.

In addition to a new water and electric wall heater, this home received new, solid fencing, and new flooring in multiple rooms. At no cost to Roger.

While Roger may feel it's a 'new home', for us, it's a safer home. And one where another community member can age in place more comfortably.

An old, failing fence made Eddie's backyard less accessible. And less safe.

RTP's solution? Install a retaining wall and re-landscape the yard.

That, in addition to installing grab bars throughout the home, and repairing his deck, made this senior's home a safer place in which to age. At no cost to Eddie.

Working with seniors like him - in need of repairs to make one's home healthier - is core to the work we do.

And we celebrate the seniors who partner with us to make that happen.

It's back to school season!

And a great time for childcare facilities to take a new look at what renovations and rehab may be needed at their campuses.

Last spring, RTP and our teams of supporters refurbished playgrounds, secured fencing, installed classroom flooring, built decks...and much more...at schools and facilities across the Peninsula.

Since 1989, RTP has worked to repair homes...and, in many instances, rebuild independence for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

By building ramps and lifts, in addition to removing trip hazards, improving lighting, installing bars and rails, RTP has given new mobility to households with members experiencing disabilities.

"I got freedom again", offered one Redwood City senior after receiving a life-changing ramp amongst other needed repairs.

And it's a service provided at no cost to recipients.

If your home was built in 1978 or earlier, any paint peeling or chipping may be a cause for concern, such as with this Redwood City home.

Lead-based paint, commonly in use those years, has been proven to be detrimental to a household's health.

The good news is that RTP can help. Eligible residents in San Mateo County can receive lead testing and any necessary remediation at no cost, thanks to the Unleaded Homes San Mateo County program.

Who doesn't love a good tape measure?

Tape measures are an essential tool to our day-to-day work repairing and revitalizing the homes and spaces of our neighbors.

Providing accurate placement and measurement can be critical to making sure a home repair is done correctly.

Congratulations, FCL journeywomen and apprentices!

RTP was honored recently to host FCL's second annual Silicon Valley summer camp for teen girls, who practiced drywall, carpentry, tiling, electric, plumbing, and more across three days.

Looking forward to seeing this next generation of prospective building and repair industry tradeswomen continue their skills...and maybe join us as Rebuilders!

Cheers again to a great camp! And thanks to the team of volunteers and sponsor guests who visited and helped make FCL's camp a success!
