Thank you for being a valued member of the Thrive Alliance community and for your commitment to enhancing our environment and quality of life!

https://hubs.la/Q04BWKkQ0 is dedicated to reducing vehicle miles traveled (VMT) by encouraging the use of sustainable commuting options. Their innovative CommuteStar app empowers commuters to plan and track their trips, offering rewards for biking, carpooling, or vanpooling. With October being Carpool Month, commuters are encouraged to log their carpool or vanpool trips for a chance to win prizes!

This year, https://hubs.la/Q04BWKkQ0 celebrated significant milestones, including being recognized as an accredited TDM Organization. They facilitated nearly 10,000 users in tracking 1.8 million trips, resulting in a remarkable reduction of 9,213 tons of carbon emissions. Additionally, their Community Partner Grant Program continues to support local nonprofits in spreading awareness of the benefits of sustainable commuting. From an introduction at OnBoard to the Strategic Planning Cohort! This past April, Mayrose attended our OnBoard event, where she was introduced to Nuestra Casa. Today she serves on their board, and this week she joined Nuestra Casa’s Executive Director, Miriam, at the kickoff of the Environmental Strategic Planning Cohort sponsored by Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Thrive is proud to support this cohort as strategic planning coaches, and moments like this remind us why we do this work. When committed community members find the right organization, the impact ripples outward: stronger boards, stronger nonprofits, and stronger communities.

Who can vote? Your voice matters, and knowing your voting eligibility is an important first step in participating in our democracy.

In California, you can register and vote if you are a U.S. citizen, will be at least 18 years old on Election Day, and are not currently serving a state or federal prison term for a felony conviction.

Share this information with your community and help ensure everyone eligible has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Confused about the ballot? Join Thrive Alliance and the League of Women Voters of North & Central and South San Mateo County for San Mateo County Ballot Propositions: Pros & Cons on Thursday, October 8, from 1:00 - 2:30 PM!

We’re excited to highlight Puente de la Costa Sur (PUENTE) and the work they’re doing to support wellness, prosperity, and independence across San Mateo County’s South Coast communities. Thank you for being a valued member of the Thrive Alliance community and for your continued commitment to local families and residents!

Puente fosters equitable access to education, health, and economic security in Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio. Working alongside South Coast neighbors, Puente connects community members with essential resources and opportunities that help them move toward greater independence. This year, the organization has made progress across several initiatives, including renovating its North Street housing development, now Casa de las Flores, and launching its first capital campaign to create safe, dignified homes for local farmworkers. Puente also continues to support students pursuing college and trade careers, older adults through its 60+ Connection and Wellbeing Program, and more than 200 households through its monthly food distribution program. Serving more than 1,600 individuals and providing over 30,000 units of service in FY 2026, Puente remains a trusted bridge to independence for South Coast communities.
