HRR Newsletter excerpt:
Friends,
We want you to know how grateful we are for your continued support of Harbor Rock Recovery. About six months ago, we were able to hire Brandy Griggs part-time, and she’s been a tremendous blessing to our work and community.

As many of you know, we are a niche faith-based nonprofit, and while we hope to pursue grant opportunities in the near future, we would truly appreciate your prayers for favor and provision in that process.

We are serving a broad spectrum of people with heavy life situations, too many to share now but allow me to give a glimpse of one specific situation.

~Single mom, with a 3 year old came to us from a dangerous living situation, she had been striving to stay sober, find work, care for her child and most recently learned of a diagnosis for her sweet kiddo, a chronic condition called Rett Syndrome, a rare and devastating neurodevelopmental disorder that impacts nearly every aspect of an individual’s life, including their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe. Oh dear Lord Jesus!

This is bigger than what any of us could imagine but HRR is committed to helping this family discover safe, sober, faithful, and healthy rhythms to care for this life situation.

We believe God knows the way forward but we ask you to pray with us!

There are more stories, and we want to continue telling of what God is doing and can do, in and through Harbor Rock Recovery. We truly believe that when people, churches, and organizations see the value of this work they would partner with us in bringing hope and recovery to others.

At the moment, we are approximately $40,000 behind our anticipated funding needs. We are praying that local South Bay churches and individuals might consider supporting Harbor Rock Recovery through monthly giving or even a one-time gift. Every bit truly matters.

Your personal support has meant more than we can say.
It strengthens our confidence that God will continue to provide for this mission.

Friends, we KNOW this work is making a difference.

Just last week, a lifelong friend — someone who would describe himself as a seeker and not yet a believer — said to me:
“Tell me more about Harbor Rock Recovery. I keep hearing people say, ‘Dan’s doing this or that, and a few guys I've met told me ‘I'm in Harbor Rock’s Sober Living.’ it sounds like your organization is doing important work. Is it a legitimate nonprofit?”

I smiled, “Yes, Harbor Rock Recovery has been a registered 501(c)(3) since 2013.”

He responded, “I want to write you a check.”

He did. I thanked God and I sent him a thank-you card. Since then he’s expressed how excited he is to now feel connected to the work God's doing through Harbor Rock Recovery.

From the bottom of our hearts,
THANK YOU for your prayers, support and compassion.

Thank you for believing in this mission, praying for us, and walking with us.

PD

P.S. THANK YOU to those who've already responded!
Your love, support and prayers are making a huge difference.

*** Last Sunday Pastor Daniel (CCPV) told the congregation as he prepared to preach part II from John 11, "Friends, we are in the middle of a miracle, that's about to happen..."

This is the life of believers on mission. THANK YOU again and again, May God bless you and keep you, as you walk out your faith with our God. Remember, you are in the middle of a miracle!

We recently share some needs in our newsletter and some of you responded~ THANK YOU

It truly encourages us, reminding me this work takes a community! YOU are helping to make a difference in the lives of people struggling and seeking hope and healing!

Our God is near and at work, in the struggles, in the hospitals, jails, broken relationships, financial concerns, in the valley, on the hill tops, broken dreams and hearts~ Our God is not far off, nor intimidated by such.

God speaks into the noise "I've got you"
God sees in the dark~ you cannot hide or be hidden
God heals the sick~ fullness, wholeness, peace
God raises the dead~ life to the fullest, eternal life`

God loves you because God is LOVE

God's Promises, Power and Presence are trust worthy!

THANK YOU for helping this message find people who need to know, God is near.

I believe we all care about mental health and yet so many people suffer in silence. Some people self medicate, others live in the shadows or in isolation. Some, trying hard 'to not be found out'.

Listen friends, you are not alone!
There is a solution.

Let's talk, let's create a plan to walk in freedom, discover purpose, connect to our Creator and one another!

Last week a memorial service was held for a young man who was killed by an accidentally dose of fentanyl.

THIS IS HEARTBREAKING

YES, this drug has been the cause of way too many overdoses.
It's often laced in other drugs.

The term "recreational drug use" is often used when there is illicit drug use. This is not cool! Very dangerous~

Illicit means outside the scope of use the drug's intended use.

Mis use

This is not a judgement~ it is a fact.

Reality check: Feeling good feels good,

Important observation: Mis use of mind altering, physiology altering substances, can begin very subtly, the pursuit of "feeling good" becomes illusive. When feeling good is the pursuit of such drug use it will one day, maybe sooner than you know, turn on you.

This is a dangerous, un healthy, fully holistic condition (Illness) that needs attention on all three levels: Body~ Mind ~ Soul

Body needs stabilization, maybe medical detox and care.
Mind needs safety, truth, clarity, focus and inspiration
Soul needs mercy, hope, faith, Divine love and grace

There is a solution

The solution requires honesty, open mindedness, willingness to face yourself, your condition, your Creator, to discover inherent dignity, gifts and purpose.

You are not alone
Only you can take the next right step!

PLEASE know you are loved~ worth every effort to discover hope and healing.

Maybe Harbor Rock can help you or someone you love find help?

Remember mom this Sunday!

~ ALSO PLEASE pray for our momma's and their little ones.

HRR HOUSE is a faith based Sober Living that hosts single mom's as the rise up and take hold of all God has provided!

Jesus, remembering the prophet Isaiah, would say;

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me,
for the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor."
Isaiah 61:1

He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
and prisoners will be freed.
He has sent me to tell those who mourn
that the time of the Lord’s favor has come,
and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
To all who mourn in Israel*
He will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for His own glory.
Isaiah 61:2-3
