π¨ PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY: Stop Marriage & Immigration Fraud!
At the Love To Serve (LTS) Foundation, protecting the integrity of our legal systems is key to serving our community well.
Entering into a marriage solely to obtain a green card or bypass immigration laws is a federal crime under 8 U.S.C. Β§ 1325(c). It misuses public resources and carries heavy penalties for everyone involved.
Key Facts You Should Know:
βοΈ Heavy Penalties: Federal convictions carry up to 5 years in prison, $250,000 in fines, and permanent deportation/visa bans.
π Intent Matters: While divorcing after marrying in good faith isn't illegal, rapid separations trigger strict federal reviews requiring proof of original shared life (joint leases, shared bank accounts).
π© Major Red Flags: Quick remarriages or overlapping relationships raise immediate flags for investigators.
