South Bay Bicycle Coalition (SBBC+) is a non-profit organization working to make active people safer The SBBC+, inc.

Founded in 2009, the South Bay Bicycle Coalition, Plus (SBBC+) works to build a better, more bike-able and walk-able South Bay. is a non-profit organization working to make bicyclists/walkers safer and give them equal access to public streets/sidewalks. We work exclusively on behalf of the thousands of active residents throughout the South Bay. Through awareness and education, the SBBC+ brings together a diverse active community in a united mission - to make the South Bay region a safe and enjoyable place to ride and walk!

We’re launching Bike Streets in Torrance! Log rides or suggest routes with Bike Streets and help us build the Low-Stress Torrance Bike Map. Ride and help us reach our first weekly goal of 20 riders. bikestreets.com/join (link in bio).

Bike Streets is a crowdsourced map for suggesting and navigating low-stress bike routes. It includes turn-by-turn navigation for these community-suggested routes.

The goal is to start with Torrance but any contributions throughout LA county are encouraged.

has approved protected (Class IV) bike lanes along Palos Verdes Blvd from Irena to PCH, expected to complete by October!

Thank you to City Council, Public Works and Sustainability Commission, and Staff for making this a priority to close this gap with high quality infrastructure.

Note: plans call for concrete curbs, not plastic flex-posts as shown.

This will link existing bike lanes along PV Blvd. In the future per the South Bay Bicycle Master Plan, we look forward to seeing this continue into and connect with protected bike lanes along Prospect Ave!
