Supporting officer wellness requires more than conversation. It takes leadership, resources, and long-term commitment.

This FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin article highlights how one agency successfully implemented wellness initiatives and created stronger support systems for its personnel. It also offers practical insight for agencies looking to strengthen or expand their own wellness efforts.

Each hour of Peace Officers Memorial Day 2026 was marked by the toll of the bell at the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial.

Surviving family members, law enforcement officers, partners, and friends stepped forward to ring the bell three times in remembrance of those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

With every toll, we honored their sacrifice and renewed our promise that they will always be remembered.

Some projects move forward because generous neighbors are willing to lend a hand.

As we prepare to move into our new office space, one of our first projects was clearing rocks from the courtyard. With the help of an incredible group of volunteers, the job was completed with enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of muscle.

Thank you to the Free Masons from Ashler Lodge in Bothell and the Eastside Masonic Center (Bellevue Lodge) for investing your time and energy into supporting our mission. Your efforts are helping us bring this new chapter to life.

PTSD affects millions of people each year, including many who serve and protect our communities.

Learning about PTSD helps us better support first responders, law enforcement officers, military members, survivors of trauma, and their families. Increased awareness can help reduce stigma, encourage meaningful conversations, and connect individuals with the support they need.

The National Center for PTSD provides trusted resources to help individuals understand PTSD, find support, and learn about treatment options.

Earlier this month, Brandon attended the Washington State Nonprofit Conference in Tacoma, hosted by the Nonprofit Association of Washington. Our team also had the opportunity to participate in the virtual conference sessions and learn alongside nonprofit organizations from across Washington.

It was encouraging to hear the stories, challenges, and successes of so many organizations dedicated to serving their communities. We are grateful for opportunities like these that allow us to learn, connect, and grow.

We're also excited to share that Behind the Badge Foundation is now a member of the Nonprofit Association of Washington. We look forward to being part of this network and continuing to build relationships with others who are committed to making a difference.

Thank you, NAWA, for bringing nonprofits together and fostering a spirit of collaboration throughout our state.
