Big news. 🎉

After 10+ years of building community across Central Oregon, Better Together is stepping into full operational independence.

Our mission, our relationships, and our commitment to the people of Central Oregon are not changing. What changes is our capacity to sustain and deepen that work for the long term.

We have exciting news! 🎉

Better Together Central Oregon is entering a new phase of growth that deepens our ability to serve the children, families, and communities at the heart of everything we do.

After more than 10 years of partnership-building across Central Oregon, our Board of Directors approved a transition to full operational independence. This means Better Together will now directly manage our own operations, staffing, and programs — including Juntos Aprendemos, which will continue serving Spanish-speaking families across our region.

This is a milestone shaped by every partner, family, and community member who has shown up, year after year. Thank you for being part of this.

We're also hiring! Better Together is looking for a Community Impact Manager – Latinx Programs to join our team. Know someone who would be a great fit? Share this post and help us spread the word.

16 new and returning members of Better Together’s Integrating a School Readiness & Early Learning Ecosystem convening group gathered in Redmond on Monday. This was the third convening for this group since it launched last fall.

One of the main topics we discussed was how we’re intentionally moving from vision → action, and I shared the four stages of StriveTogether’s Collaborative Improvement Framework:
RESULT: What do we want to be true?
TARGET: How will we know change is happening?
STRATEGY: What will we try together?
TEST & LEARN: What works? What do we adjust?

We also shared our “macaroni noodle” graphic (⬇️), and emphasized that collective action and impact is a living process, not a linear or static one (despite how much we would all love for it to be.)

Next up: the third convening for our Elevating Youth Voice group on April 16.

When Better Together brings families, educators, and community partners into the same room, something powerful happens:

✨ We break isolation.
✨ We listen deeply.
✨ We build belonging.
✨ And from that belonging, new ideas and opportunities emerge for Central Oregon’s youth.

This work doesn’t happen on its own. It happens because so many people showed up this year.
