Thanks to all of you who have supported the new Teachers for Tomorrow organic garden micro-business project in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

We now have 12 gardens in production that generated a bumper crop of basil, tomatoes, mustard and other vegetables, and a sales profit of $100 for the villagers in the first month of production!

We are building eight more gardens that will give us a total growing area of 600 square feet. Interested in sponsoring a garden named after a loved one? Go to http://www.teachersfortomorrow.org/donationmain/

We are close to reaching our $3,000 goal for our newest initiative, Village to Table!

These gardens will grow organic and non-GMO heirloom vegetables, and provide a sustainable source of income and feed rural families in Cambodia year-round. With Siem Reap being a top tourist destination, these gardens will allow them to sell in-demand produce to local hotel and restaurant buyers.

Give by 11:59 PM tonight to receive a deduction on your 2016 taxes!

In case you missed it, Teachers for Tomorrow has launched a new initiative called Village to Table! In order to help families in the rural villages of Cambodia support themselves with a vegetable garden, we are aiming to raise $3,000 by December 31, 2016.

These gardens will grow organic and non-GMO heirloom vegetables, and provide a sustainable source of income and feed rural families in Cambodia year-round. With Siem Reap being a top tourist destination, these gardens will allow them to sell in-demand produce to local hotel and restaurant buyers.

Teachers for Tomorrow is a 501c3 charity, and all donations are tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers.

Help grow a dream this holiday season, by donating either $25 or $50

In 2013, a group from the University of Washington donated a bike to an elderly woman and her grandchildren at a local village. One of the former students, Savoeun Vun, shares her story with us:

"Her child and their spouse went to Thailand to work, which is common (and illegal if they do not have the appropriate paperwork). So the grandchildren are left with her to care for. Being her age, she doesn't work a traditional job. Instead, she grows onions to sell, since she doesn't get any financial support for her grandchildren.

She was grateful for the bike so she can ride it to the temple for festivals, and bring offerings to the monks. Her oldest grandchild will be at the age soon to ride a bike, and will be able to ride it to school."

Bicycles are a key form of transportation and can often determine whether a child is able to make it to school, a job or a doctor. Your donation covers the bike and a repair kit.

All donations are tax-deductible. Help build a brighter future, today: http://www.teachersfortomorrow.org/donationmain/

We are very excited to announced that the renovations to the Ko Kruel (Cambodia) village Community Education Center is now complete, and enhancements to our Teachers for Tomorrow educational programs are now underway.

These include:
(1) Solar power system for lighting, ventilation fans and phone chargers. The village is still not on the public power grid so all power in the village has been provided by car batteries. The new solar-powered center system now provides the 100+ village kids with a place to study at night

(2) New furniture, white boards and other teaching materials including a new AV system

(3) Collapsible walls that are used to keep out the rain and bugs

(4) An expanded educational curricula

(5) College scholarships for two Teachers for Tomorrow High School Scholars who will graduate from high school next month.
The photos below show some of the modifications and the new wall mural painted by the kids!

Thank you again to those of you who have supported this program. Your names appear on Wall of Honor Plaques mounted in the classroom and will soon be featured on the Teachers for Tomorrow website as well.

Miss Kunthea lives with her grandmother and earns about $20 a month by selling food in local markets. Her parents and two siblings passed away a few years ago. Beside her grandmother, Kunthea has no close relatives.

She had to quit school recently because she needs money to support her family. She is now working in a local salon but really wants to continue with her studies and become a Khmer teacher to help the community. She hopes for support for her high school studies so she can stop working and return to school.
