A little Grizzly area pioneer history! Grizzly is in the Upper Willow Creek watershed where we are currently working to treat encroaching juniper on private land. We love Grizzly and the deep history of ranching in this unique corner of Oregon.

Hood’s phlox (Phlox hoodii) out by Ashwood 🙂

We love this early season bloomer and its’ showstopper displays in the rockiest of substrates.

Sagebrush and grassland communities of the Trout and Willow Creek watersheds provide excellent habitat for phlox. Be sure to look for phlox on the Crooked River National Grassland!

Our first field trips of the season on the Metolius River were a success! We learned all about springs, macros, and habitat restoration!

- Otter
- Osprey
- Belted kingfisher
- Red-tailed hawk
- Northern flicker
- Canada goose
- Common merganser
- Steller’s jay
- and lots of elk s**t!
