We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated and amazing advisors throughout Washington State. Our Explorer programs are stronger because of the time, energy, and commitment these men and women give to the next generation of law enforcement leaders.

WLEEA is especially honored and grateful to have Officer Diaz as part of our Explorer Academies. Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to our Explorers make a lasting impact. Outstanding job to both Officer Diaz and the Yakima Police Explorers. Yakima Police Department

🎉 Congratulations, Trooper Omar! 🎉

Former Tacoma Police Department Explorer Shanaz Omar graduated from WSP Trooper Basic Training Class #122 last week! 🚔

Sgt. Custis and Explorer Duran were there to celebrate with her and congratulate her on this incredible accomplishment.

From Explorer to Washington State Patrol Trooper — what an exciting next step!

Congratulations, Trooper Omar, and welcome to an exciting and rewarding career in law enforcement! We’re proud to see our Explorers continue to grow and serve their communities. 🇺🇸

September Spotlight! The Benton County Explorer Post has been empowering and inspiring young people since 2016!
One of the things that makes our program truly unique is our cadre of volunteer Advisors from neighboring law enforcement agencies working together with our very own commissioned deputies. Their collaboration and partnerships create opportunities for Explorers to experience specialized training and learn from our partners across the region.
Over the years, our Explorers have welcomed guests from the Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad, Richland Police Department Drone Team, Pasco Police Department DRE, Tri-Cities Regional SWAT, Life Flight, and the list goes on.
Our Explorers also stay active in the community, participating in events like Water Follies, the Miss Tri-Cities Pageant, and Sausage Fest, as well as events hosted by regional partners such as Kennewick Police Department's Shop With a Cop and Richland Police Department's Bike Rodeo.
Most importantly, we are proud to see young people grow through this program and pursue successful careers in law enforcement with agencies including the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, Washington State Patrol, Hanford Patrol, and right here with Benton County.
