Oregon 4-H Volunteer Summit — You’re Invited!

Calling all Deschutes County 4-H Leaders, Volunteers, and Superintendents! 💚🍀

We are excited to invite you to our first Oregon 4-H Volunteer Summit! This special event is an opportunity to come together, connect with one another, celebrate the incredible work our volunteers do, and prepare for another successful 4-H year.

We’d like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for another year of the Deschutes County Fair. What an incredible week it has been! Thank you to every 4-H member, family, volunteer, club leader, barn superintendent, judge, sponsor, fair staff member, and community supporter who helped make this year’s fair memorable.

It takes countless hours of planning, preparation, and teamwork to make fair week happen, and it truly takes a village. Watching our youth learn, grow, and proudly showcase all of their hard work makes every long day worthwhile.

As we wrap up another fair, I hope everyone takes some well-deserved time to rest and recharge after all the hard work this past week. You earned it! Thank you for investing your time, talents, and hearts into our 4-H program and our youth.

Our 4-H staff will be out of the office today Monday, August 3, 2026.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible Deschutes County 4-H Barn Superintendents! 💚☘️

These amazing individuals serve in this role because they genuinely care about the youth in our 4-H program. They willingly take time off from their regular jobs, spend an entire week at the fair, and volunteer countless hours—without pay—to ensure our barns, shows, and exhibitors have a successful experience.

Our Barn Superintendents are mentors, teachers, problem-solvers, and leaders. They share their knowledge, encourage youth, answer questions, help navigate challenges, and work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything organized and running smoothly. Their dedication helps create an environment where our 4-H members can learn, grow, and shine.

The next time you’re at the Deschutes County Fair and you see someone wearing a green superintendent shirt, please take a moment to say “thank you.” A few kind words go a long way in recognizing the countless hours, hard work, and heart they pour into making our fair a memorable experience for our youth.

We are so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for investing in the next generation! 💚🍀

🍀 Cool off with a sweet treat at the Deschutes County Fair! 🍦

Need a break from the summer heat? Stop by the Clover Ice Cream Booth! We’ve added new menu items this year, and we’d love to serve you.

📍 You’ll find us just past the Fairgrounds Administration gates in the North Sister Building. Best of all, we’re in an air-conditioned building, making it the perfect place to cool off while enjoying a delicious treat!

You can conveniently order from the window outside the building, then step inside to enjoy your treat in a cool, air-conditioned space.

Enjoy our soft-serve ice cream, kid and regular cones, ice cream sundaes, root b**r floats, soft pretzels with cheese, nachos with cheese and optional toppings, popcorn, drinks, and more!

The Clover Ice Cream Booth is proudly operated by our Deschutes County 4-H clubs, where our youth gain valuable experience in teamwork, responsibility, and customer service.

Every purchase helps support our 4-H program! Proceeds from the booth provide scholarships that allow youth to participate in camps, conferences, leadership opportunities, and other enriching 4-H experiences.

Thank you for supporting our local 4-H youth. We hope you’ll stop by the Clover Ice Cream Booth this week for a cool treat and a chance to support the next generation of leaders! 🍀💚🍦

🎉What a great way to kick off Deschutes County Fair! Last night we hosted the Deschutes County Carcass Contest. So great to see these youth and the families come learn about what the project looks like on the rail. What the consumer is really getting! 🎉
Special thank you to the speaker John, who is out here in Oregon judging at the Deschutes fair this year. He was amazing.
