We are currently meeting virtually during the Stay at Home orders in Southern California. Take 10 Freeway to Alabama.

That's Debatable Toastmasters Club meets IRL every 3rd Sunday of the Month at Denny's, 1180 Alabama Street, Redlands, at 6:15 pm.

For our last debate of the Toastmasters year we presented arguments on "Resolved: High School Grading System Should Be Improved". We had 12 debaters who presented very compelling arguments on both side.

A very serious debate tonight with strong opinions on each side, "Resolved: The supreme court should be increased by two more judges." Toastmaster Mark Lucas kept the meeting moving. Karen Lucas, Table Topics Master challenged us with quotes from Supreme Court Justices, and General Evaluator Richard Snyder lead the team that helped us improve our skills.

June Debate: Resolved: The high school grading system should be improved.

A timely debate this week - Resolved: Facebook should be prosecuted in an Anti-Trust Case. Both sides provided compelling arguments based upon previous cases and passionate capitalism.

Tonight's debate was emotional - "Resolved: The US should have physician-assisted euthanasia". Our passionate and well spoken debaters were organized by Toastmaster Marjorie Benesh. Table Topics Master Michael Osur had an interesting variety of topics from serious to amusing. Rounding out the team, General Evaluator Mark Lucas lead the evaluators and functionaries to examine what went right and where we could improve.

Tonight we had a lively debate "RESOLVED: The COVID vaccination should be required for all adults. Michael Osur lead the debates as Toastmaster, Mark Lucas raised different issues as Table Topics Master and Karen Lucas helped everyone better their skills as General Evaluator.

Join us on March 21st, 6:00PM, Pacific Time, when we will debate, "RESOLVED: The US should have Physician-assisted euthanasia.

What an emotional debate we had tonight! Our eight debaters argued "Resolved: Donald Trump should respectfully attend Joe Biden's inauguration". Toastmaster Marjorie Benesh kept our debaters in check and made sure everyone spoke. Our Table Topics Master Richard Snyder continued the debates with innovative table topics that allowed the second speaker respond to the first. General Evaluator Mark Lucas ensured that everyone learned something from their speaking roles.

We thank our Division D Director Tomi Daniels for her keynote and we welcome back our guests Dr. Woldemariam, Jenny Liu, and Deirdre Clay.

Our holiday debate topic was "Resolved: Adults should be truthful about Santa's existence when asked by children. Our debaters provided both serious discussion and humorous alternative views, leaving our members much to think think about. The debate was facilitated by Toastmaster Mark Lucas. We also had a special guest speaker Alipio De Verya. General Evaluator Marjorie Benesh guided our evaluation of the 11 speakers. Table Topics Master Michael Osur enlightened our minds with holiday related questions, including the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future!

What looked on the surface as a fun debate - Resolved: Turkeys should be pardoned on Thanksgiving - turned out to bring out some deeper thoughts on the state of industrial farming among our ten debaters. Toastmaster Michael Osur kept the debate moving forward. Francisco Sanchez reflected on his Effective Coaching path completing his Level 5! Congratulations! Table Topics Master Karen Lucas lightened the mood with hilarious questions for the non-debaters in the room. General Evaluator Mark Lucas lead the evaluation team to succinctly provide feedback to the members.
