Do you live, work, or otherwise travel through San Bernardino? The City is seeking feedback on the condition of Base Line Road, follow the link below to respond.

Community Input Sought for Baseline Street Traffic Safety Study

The City of San Bernardino has launched the Baseline Street Safety Study, a planning effort to make travel along Baseline Street easier, safer, and more convenient for everyone – walkers, bikers, bus riders ride, or drivers.

The five-mile corridor stretches from Meridian Avenue to Tippecanoe Avenue, linking neighborhoods, schools, and key destinations in San Bernardino.

As part of the study, the City is considering improvements such as:

- New traffic signals to enhance pedestrian safety and ensure efficient vehicle circulation.
- Pedestrian safety upgrades, including flashing crosswalk lights and high-visibility crosswalks to help people cross safely.
- New bike lanes to support safer travel.

The study will also:
- Identify locations of traffic safety and accessibility concerns
- Recommend practical design solutions
- Create a plan to guide future traffic improvements
- Help the city pursue federal and state grant funding

The City needs your input and opinions to build a safer Baseline Street!

Use the online comment map at bit.ly/BaselineStreetFeedback to identify where Baseline feels unsafe or needs improvement. The map can be found at:

The Baseline Street Traffic Safety Study is funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Planning & Demonstration Grant, which supports the City of San Bernardino’s 2022 Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP).

Thanks for helping to improve San Bernardino!

Take a minute to speak up to save funding for biking!

Take a minute to speak up to save funding for biking!

We need your help. Reports indicate that federal funding for bike lanes and other important transportation projects may be frozen soon. We know that these projects save lives. And if funding is frozen, many projects already approved for federal funding may never break ground to transform dangerous streets. Those projects already in progress will stop immediately and may never start back up again.

Your voice matters. Tell the Department of Transportation not to freeze these critical transportation funds. Sign the petition on our Action Center: https://www.votervoice.net/BikeLeague/Petitions/5746/Respond

Hey folks, we have some good news on the SART front for a change. Next week, Riverside County will be accepting funds from the Coastal Conservancy to complete the construction of the segment between Green River and the existing segment by SR-71 that is orphaned. Hopefully, this means that they are ready to start construction once they receive the money, not just start another round of years of design because we are eager to see it built. If you live or have interests in Riverside county, reach out to your Supervisor and let them know you're looking forward to the swift completion!

Six years after it was supposed to be completed, City of Fontana, CA - City Government is finally getting to work on this section of the San Sevaine Trail. Let's hope they can get the rest of it done in a more timely manner.

The San Sevaine Trail Project is a multi-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists. Along the East Etiwanda Creek Channel from a Fontana Pacific Electric Trail connection point, the path will extend into Rancho Cucamonga's Banyan Street. This will provide access to alternate modes of transportation for the surrounding communities and schools.

Construction is set to begin on Tuesday, May 28 on Victoria Avenue, under and near the Interstate 15 Freeway overpass. It is expected to continue until Spring 2025.

For questions regarding this project, please contact [email protected].

Portland drivers seem to understand the concept of Advisory Bike Lanes. Not sure if we will see this in the Inland Empire.

The City of Portland has just installed advisory bike lanes on sections of two key bikeways. The new treatment is rare and there have been a lot of questions...
